Chapter 23
That evening...
I have supper with Clark's family before I get picked up by my parents to go home. By the way, Clark and I woke up before his parents and sister got home to save ourselves some awkwardness. Clark has preached to me time and time again about how great a cook his mother is. She made burritos and nachos from scratch. They are absolutely amazing. I'm so in love with them that I haven't even bothered to stop for breath. Throughout the course of dinner, Clark's family asks me a series of questions that I manage to answer them with such grace that I eventually left all of them baffled, even Clark. I mentally high five myself for doing such an awesome job tackling such complex questions.
For dessert, we all have popsicles with our choice of flavor. The choices are cherry, grape, and orange. Cherry being my favorite flavor, I picked out a cherry popsicle for myself. As expected, the cherry is delicious. Clark and I have a short conversation while eating our popsicles before I can a car horn honk outside. I roll my eyes knowing that my dad is simply trying to be a wise ass. I thank Clark's family for letting me come over for the day. Clark then walks me over to the car like a gentleman, being sure to introduce himself and his family. We all hang around for a couple minutes longer before Clark and I kiss and hug each other goodbye with promises to text later. On the ride home, I fawn over the selfie that Clark begrudgingly agreed to take with me today. I've already made it my lock screen and wallpaper. I want to stare at it all of time.
