Chapter 42
The next day...
I spend the day lounging around the house thinking about my day with Derek yesterday. Yesterday was the best day that I've had in months. With yesterday being as great as it was, thinking about it as much as I am is making me a little sad. I miss Derek. I grab my phone off of the charger and text him.
Me: Hey Derek. I just wanted to tell you that I had a great time yesterday and I miss you. <3
Derek: I miss you too Myra. I wish I could call or Skype you right now, but I'm not feeling well today. I have a killer headache and a stomachache to go with it.
Me: Aw :( I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon. Please try and get some rest. I'll leave for be for now so you can. Just text me later about how you're feeling. Okay?
Derek: Okay <3 Have a good day babe. :)
Me: Babe? :3 I like the sound of that. <3
Derek: Good :) I'll talk to you later. I love you. <3
Me: I love you too. :) <3
That evening...
I'm just making some mac and cheese for myself when my phone vibrates on the kitchen counter. I smile when I see that it's from Derek. I open up my phone quickly. It says the following:
Hey Myra. <3 I just wanted to tell you that I slept for five hours, am up for a little while to eat supper and what not, and then plan on going back to bed. I want to be at school with you tomorrow, well rested and ready to face another day.
I hold my phone close to me and hug it like a small child. I then pull it away from my chest and text back the following:
Derek, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and got some rest. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. <3 <3
My phone vibrates again once more with a response from Derek:
I can't wait to see you either babe. Have a good night beautiful.
My heart flutters at being called beautiful and I grin from ear to ear as I text back:
Same to you handsome :)
I finish eating supper, watch Grey's Anatomy for two hours, and then crash in bed for the night soon after.
