Chapter 53

Two days later... Friday to be exact...

   

 Thank the heavens that today is Friday. I'm so ready for the weekend. This week has been never ending. I'm hanging out with Becky and Derek tomorrow which makes me extra excited for the weekend. We're going apple picking and the park. I think that Becky plans on bringing her boyfriend to make it a double date, which is fine. I've never been on a double date before so I'm very interested to experience one just to say that I have. Becky's boyfriend socializes with us, but we haven't been able to become close friends with him. He's a bit of an introvert to some degree. We just try the best we can because that's all that we can do. 

    I head to the entrance of the school to find Derek waiting for me. As usual whenever I'm around him, my heart races super fast and I get the good kind of butterflies in my stomach. I greet him with a peck on the lips and a warm hug before we enter the building. When we get inside, we find Becky with her boyfriend standing by her locker. He gives us both nods while pulling Becky close to him, though it's hard to tell if it's an act of romance or possessiveness. I don't know if it's even my place to comment, but I'm just looking out for my girl Becky. 

At lunch...

 Becky comes to our table nearly in tears and her boyfriend is no where to be found. Anger surges in me but I don't let it show for Becky's sake. "What's wrong Becky?", I ask while holding her. "H-He broke up with me. He told me that I'm not good enough for him." I glance at Derek. "Derek, can you go kick his ass?" Derek gets up. "I absolutely can." He bends down and kisses me on the cheek. "I'll let you both know how it went later." I nod while Becky continues to cry, breaking my heart fast. When she's done, I take her out into the hall for a short walk around the school to let off steam before facing the remainder of the day.

That evening...

 I log online on Facebook to find Derek already waiting for me. I start typing to him: 

 Me: Hey baby. How'd it go?

Derek: It went great. I embarrassed him publicly like he did to Becky. I also kicked him in the balls. I figured he deserved that extra something. ;)

Me: God do I love you <3 Thank you for doing that for Becky. 

Derek: Anytime :) How are you doing?

Me: I'm good, just tired is all. 

Derek: You should rest then. I want my girl to be well rested when I see her in the morning. 

Me: *Sighs* Fine. Good night. <3 

Derek: :) Yay! Victory is mine! :D Good night <3 

Me: *Rolls my eyes* I love you

Derek: *Kisses them* I love you too 

  I finish reading a fanfiction on Wattpad before actually going to bed, getting plenty of sleep for once.
