Chapter 4
It's as if time has escaped me because it's already morning. I glance at my alarm clock and notice that I woke up twenty minutes early. I'd go back to sleep if it was like an hour instead of just twenty minutes. I'm hella tired but there's no point in going back to sleep now. I lie there for a couple more minutes before forcing myself to get out of bed.
My mom has already gone to work, but as expected, my dad is sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper with a coffee and half eaten cinnamon bagel beside him. Though when he sees me standing before him, he puts down his newspaper and greets me. "Good morning Myra. There's some french toast in the toaster for you along with some cereal in the cupboard. I think it's Fruit Loops or something." I nod and grab both along with some water to drink. I attempt to eat breakfast as quickly as I can so that my dad can get to school early enough to have a conference with Mr. Neon. Soon after we pull up to school, I enter with my dad but part ways once we reach Mr. Neon's office. As I walk down the hall to my locker, I can hear my dad shout "I'll text you how it went during your lunch period." I shout back "Okay! See you later."
Lunch time...
I'm sitting with Derek and Becky when my phone goes off. I pick it up instantly when I see it's from my dad. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and open it anxiously. It reads: Hey Myra, it's Dad. So my conference with your principal wasn't all that great, but I managed to get you out of having to go to detention. Have a good rest of your day at school. See you in a couple hours.
I jump up and down, shaking not only Becky and Derek, but also everyone else at the table. I blush out of embarrassment and apologize several times. Becky and Derek both grin at me. "So what was that about?", Derek asks. I show Derek and Becky the text my dad just sent me. Becky squeals and hugs me while Derek congratulates me. Though, my luck runs shore because storming over to my table is no one other than Brittany Bitch and the minions. The minions are cowling, but Brittany is beyond pissed. I smirk right at her.
Brittany leans down on the table, revealing her quite small breasts. In her mind, her breasts are a hold mine. Oh, if she only learned the truth. I give her one of my famous sighs. "What d oyou want Brittany?" She makes a clear sound of disgust. "I heard your daddy helped you weasel you way out of detention. You got lucky this time you little wench, but next time, that might not be the case." I put my hands up in mockery. "Oooooo I'm so scared of a Regina George wannabe." That pushes her right over the edge. I laugh as her face turns tomato red and she storms out of the cafeteria, being sure to flip over a few chairs on the way out. Her minions try to copy her. In unison, Derek, Becky, and I burst into laughter. Today isn't even over and it's already been the day I've had this week. I can't wait to tell my parents about what just happened. They're going to laugh their asses off.
