Chapter 81
Two weeks later...
Summer vacation has officially began as of yesterday, making all of us officially seniors. That's crazy. Only one more year in prison and then it's onto the next phase of my life... college or the work force. I'm sure I'll do well in whatever path I choose to go down. Derek, Becky, Ted, and I are going to be hanging out in a bit. We're going out to a nice cafe to eat and talk for awhile. As I'm about to take a shower, my phone rings. I glance at the caller ID and panic. It's Clark. Fuck. Do I answer and tell him off or do I just ignore it? On the fourth ring, my curiosity gets the best of me and I answer it.
"What do you want?" He gasps into the phone. It's almost as if he's shocked by tone of voice. "I wanted to say I'm sorry." I laugh manically. "You decide to just apologize to me now. What about two years ago? You treated me like shit. You make me question my worth. Well guess what, you and I are never going to happen again. It's over. You had your chance and you blew it. Who's fault is that?" He sighs. "I know. I'm a dumbass. I know we're never going to date again. All I want is to be friends." I sigh back in response. "I have a boyfriend Clark. Last time I saw you, you provoked him on purpose in an attempt to break us up. How dumb do you think I am?"
Clark starts barking into the phone, clearly indicating that he's pissed. "Jesus Myra, you don't have to be such a bitch." I growl, tell him to go fuck himself, and hang up the phone. I shut my phone off a little while so I can shower and get ready in peace. After that, I meet my dad outside and he drives me to the cafe. Becky's the first one there followed by myself, then Derek, and lastly Ted. As a group, we head inside and enjoy ourselves. We've survived hell and back this school year, now it's time to let loose. Cheers to summer vacation!
