Chapter 26
Three days later...Friday...
Clark and I are both on our way to see a late afternoon showing of the Avengers. Obviously him and I took separate cars to meet there. I didn't want to bother his parents for a ride and verse versa. The movie theater is only a short distance from both of our houses so it's no big deal.
Fifteen minutes later...
Clark is waiting for me by the entrance and usual, I run into arms, he hugs me lovingly, and spins me around. It's only been three days since we last saw each other, but based on the way that we're embracing one another, you might think that it's been three years. People stare at us like we've lost our marbles, but we don't care. Right now, in this moment, it's just Clark and I.
After a few minutes of embracing one another passionately, we head inside to buy our tickets. We each buy our own ticket, but Clark treats us to a large popcorn with extra butter to share. I then quickly use the bathroom before the movie starts.
Ten minutes later...
A long series of previews play before the actual movie does. We literally had to sit through the eight previews. After the eighth one, the Avengers finally started playing. It's absolutely amazing so far. The casting is also amazing. I'm a huge Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo fan.
A little over two hours later...
The movie just ended with the best cliffhanger ever, indicating that there's going to be a second Avengers movie. We're both so excited. I just hope we don't have to wait too long. We leave the movie theater feeling a quite giddy and head to dinner, which we decided was going to be Olive Garden, my personal favorite. My dad offered to drive us there. Then after dinner, Clark's mom is going to pick him up and take him home. my dad is performing his famous sleep in the car while we eat routine.
At dinner...
Clark and I order an Italian feast for dinner. Besides popcorn, neither of us ate anything today, which works out well. You honestly have to come to Olive Garden on an empty or near empty stomach in order to really enjoy it. Since Olive Garden isn't cheap, Clark and I will split the bill after our meal.
Twenty minutes later...
After attacking two plates of breadsticks and one bowl of soup each, our main meals are served to us. Though Clark ordered a decent amount of food, I'm beginning to feel a little self conscious because it's clear that I ordered far more than he did. He notices my frown and concern flashes on his face. "Is everything okay Myra?" I nod. "I'm fine. I just feel a little self conscious because I ordered nearly twice as much food as you did." Clark chuckles. "Whatever you don't eat is simply a second meal for tomorrow or another day." I never thought about it that way. My frown works its way into a smile. Clark says the perfect things to make me feel good about myself. That's why I adore him.
After dinner...
We split a piece of lemon cream cake and then pay the bill, which is forty dollars even. We each put twenty dollars towards the meal and leave a four dollar tip, both of us contributing two dollars to it. We walk out of Olive Garden hand in hand, kiss each other good night, and head our separate ways for the night.
