Chapter 68

Two weeks later...

Today's the first day of my JUNIOR year of high school. I'm halfway done with high school now and I'll be starting the college process towards the end of this school year. It's just so crazy. I feel like I've just started high school yesterday. By the way, I did spend some time with Becky last week. I know that the thought was tugging at the back of your mind. Don't worry, now your mind can be at ease, well at least for now.

My schedule for this year is intense, but what's nice about is that I actually have a study hall this year. I've always wanted to have one in my schedule for so long. They're so beneficial in allowing you to get homework and studying done so you have less to do at home. I also have Derek and Becky in ALL of my classes. This will be a great year, even despite the academic stress this year will bring. I meet up with Derek and Becky, in which we then head to our assigned lockers and first period class, which this year is AP English Language. I decided to challenge myself this year by taking an AP course in a subject that I'm decent in, that being English. If I do well in AP English Language, I'll probably take AP English Literature next year.

The first day of school manages to be an okay one. Some of my teachers this year are a bit on the dull side, but thankfully none of them resemble Satan. I'd rather have some dull teachers than evil ones any day of the week. Just note that I'm not saying that I want to attend school on the weekend. I'd really have to bet out of my mind to want that to happen.

After school...

Both of my parents have today off and decide to treat me to some ice cream to celebrate both their day off and me having had survived the first day of junior year. Despite my parents being a major pain sometimes, they can often be thoughtful. You may or may not know this, but my parents are older than most. I know that even at such a young age (in society's eyes), that my days with them are limited, especially with my dad. I've learned to be thankful for what I have, appreciate the little things, and to simply be a good person, all of which are important life lessons to learn and absorb.
