Chapter 35
The next day...
Clark was nowhere to be found in school today. I should prepared myself better for his absence. It's not like he liked to me. He truthfully told me that he was going to be staying home if he wasn't feeling well today. I'm just so worried about him. He nearly collapsed in my arms twice yesterday. My poor baby. </3
Since we have most of the same teachers, I got most of his homework assignments for him. Clark is literally the only person I know who actually enjoys doing homework, though he mainly likes it because it keeps him occupied. Clark sadly doesn't get out as much as I do nor does he have a great relationship with his parents and sister. It breaks my heart because my parents are everything and more to me. Without them, I would truly cease to exist.
I've managed to get through most of the school day without having an anxiety attack. I'm proud of myself because I honestly thought I'd have one by third period, which is Music. I haven't been very sociable to Becky or Derek. They weren't mad at me for being that way today because they know that I have a lot on my mind, especially when it comes to Clark. I only have one more class and then I'm free to leave prison for the day.
After school...
My dad picks me up so I can stop by Clark's to give him his homework assignments and books. I happen to know his locker combination because he gave it to me a couple of weeks ago. When I get to his house, I knock on the door, but his sister answers instead of his parents. Strange... We make awkward small talk before she blocks me from entering the house. Not wanting to spark a fight with her, I hand her the homework and books and head back to the car. As we head home, I'm finally able to see what Clark has to deal with at home. For example, his sister Brenda is definitely a loose cannon based on her erratic behavior.
