Chapter 59
Two weeks later...
I finally get to see Derek again for the first time in weeks. Both of us have been traveling like crazy and kept on missing one another, but we FINALLY are both in town at the same time. We've Skyped and messaged each other while being apart so long, but nothing beats seeing him in person. We're spending the day together in Boston. We're going to take the train in and home. While in Boston, we're going to explore the city even more than we ever have before. This includes shopping at Fanuiel Hall, going down to the ocean, eating a little bit of everything in sight, and more. I'm looking forward to it.
Derek's running a few minutes late but he told me that he's on his way. Thankfully our train doesn't leave for another half an hour. A few minutes later, Derek comes running to me with shortness of breath. I motion for him to catch his breath before I'll give him a hug and kiss. Once I'm sure that he's okay, I give him said hug and kiss. "I've missed you Derek", I murmur in his ear. "I've missed you too Myra." We let the moment linger for a couple of minutes before we buy our tickets and wait for the train to arrive.
Half an hour later...
The train arrives five minutes late but we board quickly and are on our way to Boston. The ride lasts an hour and a half due to all of the stops the train has to make. Go figure that would happen on the commuter rail. I'd take Amtrak but it's so darn expensive. I'm determined to get the money to ride it one day though.
An hour and a half later...
We arrive in Boston, navigate our way through the busy train station, and begin our adventure with food of course. McDonalds fries and chicken nuggets to be exact. From there, we head to Fanuiel Hall and do an extreme amount of shopping and a little more eating. Then we hang out by the ocean for a bit, hit up the affordable stores on Newbury Street, get some ice cream, and buy tickets for the train ride home.
An hour later...
I lean my head on Derek's shoulder and doze off. I feel him wrap an arm around me and give me a light kiss on the lips as I fall asleep for a bit. Today was lovely. <3 <3
