Chapter 56
Time Skip... Finals Week... End Of Sophomore Year...
Sophomore year is coming to an end already. Once again, I can't believe how fast the year went by. I'm officially a junior after finals are over. Junior year is going to be the worst though. The work load is the biggest of all four years of high school. It's also a very college oriented year with PSATS and SATS. I can't forget college visits as well. The truth is thinking about my college future scares the hell out of me. Instead of deciding by free will, guidance counselors peer pressure students into deciding to go, even if they're hesitant about doing so. I'll probably be peer pressured into going. Believe it or not, my GPA plays a major role in them doing so. Go figure.
Anyways on a happier note, this summer is going to be an even better than last because I have a lot more plans with my parents, Becky, and Derek. These plans include but aren't limited to going to an Andy Grammer concert, the mall various times, the beach, and a weekend in New York City. I'm so excited OMG! I'm going to have so many pictures to get developed at the end of that summer, though what a summer it's going to be. :)
Though right now, I need to focus on my two final exams that I have today, which happen to be History and Music. The History one I'm feeling good about but the Music one... not so much. At least junior year and senior year I can do a solo recital instead. They count as final exam for junior and senior music students. Some people dread them but I love performing and creating a set list. It's one of my strong areas in Music. Thankfully I don't have stage freight. In fact, it's quite the opposite, I get a rush of positive energy when given the chance to perform, even if it's just in chorus. Music is my life. It's what believe I'm destined to do along with writing.
After today's two finals...
I feel content with how I did on BOTH of my finals today. I'd say I got at least a 90 on my History final and passed my Music final. Obviously I wish that I'd ace my Music final too but I have to be realistic. That's never going to happen. As long as I pass my Music final, that's all that matters. Since we get out early during finals, Becky and I are going to grab lunch and hang out at the mall for awhile. Derek wanted to come too but some family related issues came up, which is totally understandable. I have plenty of those myself. It's nice to have a girl's afternoon with Becky at the mall though. Girls day with each other these days are seldom due to our busy schedules and what not. That's going to change in the summer though. By the way, Becky's satisfied with being single still, but I'm careful not to go on to much about Derek and I's relationship, keeping the steamy details to a minimum. I just don't want to rub it in her face. If I did that, just what kind of best friend would I be? I'd say a lousy one.
