Putting the last pancake on the plate, I carry the whole thing to the room and then get two cups of orange juice.

I put them on the nightstand, going to get Amoré from the living room.

I put her on Chres' chest and she taps his face. "Dada."

I climb on bed next. "Daddy, its time to wake up." I coo.

"Dada." Amoré coos.

"Good morning." He yawns, rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning." I smile, kissing his cheek. "Happy father's day, babe."

"Thank you." He smiles back.

Amoré leaves a slobbery kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you, princess." He smiles.

I get the plates while he sits up, sitting Amoré on his lap.

He leads the prayer, and we dig in after that.

"Hey, you know, you're boss called early this morning. He said the shop is gonna be closed today, so you don't have to worry about coming in." I tell him. "Maybe we can go to the park instead."

"We can do that. Which one?"

"The one right down the road." I peck his lips.

"Okay, baby." He nods.

"Dada." Amoré whines, tapping his chest. She loves having his attention.

Not that I mind. Never in a million years would I have thought I would have found someone like Chres.

Grown men sometimes don't want women with kids from previous relationships. For Chres to save us like he did, and then step up and be a father to my child at sixteen, is a true blessing and it amazes me. Chres is definitely a blessing in my life.

"I know, mama is hogging the attention, huh?" He looks down at her.

"Sorry, Amoré." I coo, kissing her cheeks. She laughs loudly, putting her hands on both sides of my face to stop me. I blow raspberries on her cheeks and she laughs louder, kicking her legs around.

"Mama!" She laughs.

"Amoré, let's get daddy." I tell her when I stop blowing raspberries.

She smiles, turning to Chres.

"Dada." She pokes her lips out.

He leans down and she kisses his cheek multiple times.

I move the plates to the nightstand, and take Amoré from his lap.

He lays back down and I put Amoré on top of him.

I attack his face with kisses and Amoré follows suit.

Chres laughs, obviously he wasn't expecting that.

"We love you, daddy. Happy father's day." I say when I stop kissing his face.

I smile, watching Chres push Amoré on the swing.

He laughs as she cheers, making me smile wider.

My family is perfect.

I see two men in black masks approach, and start running over there. "Chres! Behind you!"
