The new story is up. Its called Hero. Check it out please. The August Alsina story will be up in late-January.

I was currently in Walmart, shopping for Mel and Amoré. I already finished shopping for Mel, I just have to get a few more things for Amoré.

Then I head home.

Melanie immediately wraps her arms around me when I walk through the door. "Hi." She smiles.

"Hey."

Seeing that she isn't going to let go, I pick her up, carrying her to the living room.

"How was your day?" She asks, as I sit down on the love seat.

"It was good. I finished Christmas shopping." I gesture to the bags.

"Oh, can I be nosey?" She smiles, cuddling into my side.

"You can see what I got Amoré."

"Hey, do you have work Sunday?"

"At four." I nod.

"Can you come to the morning service with me and Amoré?" Mel asks.

"I don't see why not."

"Yay!" She cheers.

"You wanna see what I got for her?" I ask.

"Yeah, you got six to seven month size, right?"

"I think." I go grab the bags. "Hold on."

I go to the room, putting all of Melanie's stuff away where she can't find it. Then I bring Amoré's stuff out.

"Okay, this is what I got her." I set the bags in the floor.

"Chres." Melanie looks up at me, her eyes watering. "You didn't have to do all of this."

"What do I keep telling you? We're a family now."

"You're gonna make me cry." She fans her eyes.

"Don't cry." I smile, kissing her cheek.

She looks up, and we just look at each other for a while. "Mel, you're beautiful." I lean down a little bit.

"You're perfect." She stands on her tippy toes.

Very, very slowly our lips move closer towards each other. Just as they brush against each other, Amoré starts crying.

She sighs, backing away. "I have to get her."

I nod, my heart still racing. We were so close to kissing. Our first kiss.

"Wow." I plop down on the love seat.

After about ten minutes, Melanie jumps on my lap. "Where's the baby?"

"She fell back asleep. She just needed changed." Melanie says.

"Oh, did you want to look at her gifts then?"

"That's what we were supposed to be doing." She stands, grabbing the bags.

Then she's back beside me.

She looks through everything, making sure I picked the right stuff.

"You did a good job, Chres." She smiles at me.

"Thank you."

"Can you help me with dinner?" I ask.

She nods, making sure everything is back in the bags and on the loveseat.

Under the doorway of the kitchen, I grab her arm and look up. "Wait."

"What?" I grab her chin, making her look up. "Oh." She blushes.
