#70 Maura disagrees with your decision to have a baby

Your POV

Yesterday Niall and I found out the gender of our baby and today we are going to Niall's parents house to tell them since they still don't know about the baby, we told my parents yesterday.

"We've only been married for 6 months Niall, what if they don't want us to have a baby yet?" I asked starting to worry. "It wasn't that long after Greg and Denise got married that they had a baby so why would it be different , my mum and dad adore Theo and I'm sure they'll adore our baby girl too". He said and I smiled at his words.

"Niall! Y/n!" Maura exclaimed as we entered his childhood home. We smiled and hugged her and Bobby. "Denise, Greg and Theo are in the back garden" Bobby said and we nodded following them out to the back garden.

We were all sat around a table in the garden , by we I mean me,Niall,Maura,Bobby,Greg,Denise and Theo.

Niall and I stood up and everyone's attention turned to us. "We have something to tell you all, that we have been hiding for quite some time" Niall said and everyone looked at us .
"Y/n is 4 months pregnant with a baby girl!" Niall announced excitedly.
Everyone jumped up and hugged and congratulated us apart from Maura.
"Congrats to you both! I'm finally going to be an uncle!" Greg said hugging us.
"Congratulations , finally getting a granddaughter" Bobby said grinning and hugging us.

"Maura you okay?" I asked. She stood up. "Abort it!" She said. Everyone looked at her shocked. "W..what?" Niall said not believing his mother said that.
"You heard Niall! Abort the stupid thing! And if you two don't I'll take you to the clinic myself!" She yelled and everyone just stared at me, her and Niall.

I looked down. "Our daughter is not some stupid thing!" I said angrily.
"Is she even classed as living yet? It wouldn't hurt to abort it! It's either abort it or never come here again!" She shouted.

"Maura, calm down" Bobby said placing a hand on her shoulder which she swatted away. "No! I won't!" She yelled.

"Mum! I'm 26! I can make my own decisions! Greg was around the same age when he had Theo! What's different about me! Is it because it's a girl? If you think we are going to listen to everything you say , you are wrong! I don't care who tells us to abort her, it could be the queen but I still wouldn't listen because I'm not a heartless
bastard that gives up their kids!" Niall yelled , some tears escaping his eyes.
"You know mum, I thought you would be one of the people that supported us the most" Niall said sounding defeated and he quickly went up to his childhood bedroom, me following , almost crying myself.

I entered his room and he was sat up hugging his old teddy bear
I sat next to him on his bed and wrapped my arms around him. He dropped his teddy bear and hugged me back crying into my neck.
"She's one of the main people I wanted to be happy for us, but instead she tells us to get an abortion" he cried.
"You won't have an abortion , will you? , y/n?" He asked. I shook my head vigorously. "I would never do that, I disagree with abortion a lot" I told him.

His mum appeared in the doorway. He lifted his head from my neck and looked at her. His eyes were red and puffy and his cheeks were also red.
"What?" Niall asked sounding pissed off.

"Can I talk to you both, please" Maura pleaded. "Yeah, but if it's to try and convince us to abort the baby then you may as well go away" He said.

She sat down on the edge of the bed , on the other side of Niall.

"Look I know the things I said to you both are horrible and I should've never said them but I am truly sorry. I don't know what came over me , that's no excuse but I'm so sorry" She apologised.
"Why did you tell us to abort our daughter?" Niall asked staring at the floor.
"I don't know Nialler, I just..I I was upset because this means that both my boys are grown up and won't depend on me anymore, I guess I'm just scared of losing you Nialler, you too y/n , I love your company, I really enjoy having you two over. But I'm truly sorry for what I said" she explained.

"You're not going to lose us mum, we who still come over just as much, we will just have a little girl with us. Why wasn't you angry about Theo when Greg told you?" Niall asked wrapping his arms around me and his mum.
"Well when I found out about Theo, I still had you. You still came over almost everyday, well you still lived with me at home . You two were together but I didn't care as long as I still had you at home with me but then a month before Theo was born you both bought a house together . It just seems like all my years with you and Greg have flown by. It doesn't seem like yesterday you were born and saying your first word or taking your first steps" she said .

"One piece of advice I have for you both when the baby is born is to cherish every second you have with her and every other baby you have because they grow up so fast , so cherish the time and remember every moment, always think positive and choose what's best for the baby, but I know you will both do that, you will be great parents" she said and we smiled.
