Dedicated Chapter Song: Stand My Ground - Within Temptation

I just know there's no escape now
Once it sets it's eyes on you
But I won't run
Have to stare it in the eyes
Stand my ground

I just know there's no escape nowOnce it sets it's eyes on youBut I won't runHave to stare it in the eyesStand my ground

Anna sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "I'm going crazy." she mumbled. "He'd never find me out here." she shook her head. "Who?" Levi asked again. Anna dismissively waved her hand. "No one. Don't worry about it."

"Tch! Don't worry about it?! Your legs are bleeding and you're telling me not to worry?!" Levi stared at her. "I'm fine. That'll heal in about 20 minutes. I heal pretty fast. I just need to change." she moved to leave the room, but Levi stepped in front of her and blocked her path. "Excuse me?" she tried to shove past him, but he didn't budge.

"Do I need to say 'please'?" she bat her lashes at him. "Go back to sleep, Anna. You're Sleep-deprived." Anna scoffed. "Pft, no way! I'm not having another nightmare!" she insisted. Levi sighed. "Don't make me beg." he warned. Anna smirked. "Ooh, I like the idea of you begging." she bit her lip.

"Or I could easily pick you up and strap you to the bed, brat." Anna giggled. "Either way it's still kinky." she soon stopped laughing at his serious face. "Your mind is far filthier than anything I've had to clean." Anna sighed. "Well, I had to keep myself entertained somehow." she glanced at his bed. "Are you sure you're okay with me sleeping in your bed, Mr. Clean Freak?" she asked. Levi nodded. "I don't plan on sleeping tonight anyways."

Anna frowned. "More work?" she huffed. Levi only nodded, opening the door. "I'll be just out here if you need me." Anna's eyes lit up. "Actually... " she said, before gulping when he turned around. His eyes looked even hotter than she'd remembered. She rubbed her arm. "Can you stay in the room? At least until I fall asleep? I don't want to be alone right now."

Levi turned back to her and shut the door, motioning for her to lay down on the bed. She climbed back up onto the bed, sliding underneath the black covers. She looked up as Levi took off his boots and sat on the edge of the bed, just slightly unbuttoning his shirt. "Wait," she sat up. "You're staying on the bed?" Levi glanced at her. "It's a King sized bed. There's plenty of room. Plus it's my bed."

Levi glanced down at her and she felt her cheeks flush as she turned around, facing her back to him. "Right... " she mumbled. "Goodnight... Captain... " he took a moment to reply. "Goodnight, Anna."

Though she lay there for about an hour, completely frozen and nervous. If anybody saw them like this, she'd never hear the end of it! Oh, god, what if people saw her leave Levi's room in the morning? Eventually she heard Levi fall asleep and she smiled. Who cares what people thought? In fact, if that's what they wanted to believe, let them believe it.

Anna shut her eyes and relaxed, eventually falling asleep beside Levi. And for the first time in years, she didn't have a nightmare.
