"Has she come out of her room yet?" Eren asked over dinner. "Not yet." Hanji shook her head. "She's been shut in for about a week," Eld said. "Hasn't even come down for food or water." Petra frowned. "It's so terrible what happened to her. Captain Levi probably made it worse by scolding her."

"How was that Titan able to talk?" Orou questioned. "Simple. It wasn't a Titan." Hanji replied. "Anna knew whoever that was before it became that creature," Erwin spoke. "Which means at one point or another that thing was human."

"Guys, this is a total breakthrough! Maybe Titans were all once human!" Hanji grinned. "One way or another, we lost Cullen because of it." Eren said, his voice lowering as Levi stepped into the mess hall. "And we may lose Anna because of it, too. If she hasn't come out in a week, who's to say she's still alive?"

Levi spoke up. "She's still alive. I heard her crying before I left my office. Her window must've been open, though she still refuses to open the door." he spoke so nonchalantly that everyone stared at him. "So... at least she's not dead...." Eren trailed off as Anna actually happened to walk into the mess hall.

"Anna!" a chorus of her name erupted around her. She didn't make eye contact with anyone and grabbed the uneaten plate of food from in front of Hanji and the cup of water Petra had near her. "H-Hey!" Hanji cried. "That's mine!" But Anna ignored her and turned around, retreating back to her room with the food.

"Jeez, you'd think she'd be a little more appreciative of the friends she's still got." Orou mumbled. "That's just it," Levi said, sipping from his teacup. "She doesn't see any of us as friends anymore." he shrugged simply. "Anna thinks distancing herself will cause her less pain if any of you were to die."

"She doesn't believe in us?" Petra frowned. "I have an idea." she motioned for everyone to come closer and listen to what she had to say.
