First Pokemon GO legendary raid I have ever participated in, and what happened?

Bad things.

Internet lagged, game lagged, and as the countdown finished my screen suddenly froze. Then I restarted my device, but then my GPS got screwed up, and I wasn't able to enter the battle at all.

What raid was this for? Ho-oh. As a result of what we had accomplished in the Global Event last week, where we had to catch at least 3 billion Pokemon within one week to unlock certain rewards such as double XP, double stardust, and extended time for lures (placed at certain Poke Stops to attract wild and sometimes rare Pokemon), Pokemon GO had decided to grant us with Ho-oh, the legendary Pokemon that grants good luck. The raids would only be available for 2 weeks, until December 12.

Honestly, I think Ho-oh just laughed at me and kicked me in the serious ass. When I showed up there were so many people there, and now? When I tried to enter the raid, I saw that there was no one in the raid. At all. Everyone had moved on.

So naturally, I feel salty.

Of course there are other opportunities, right? This is only the first day of the raid. But if everyone except me got the Pokemon, then I'd probably be one of the only people in the world who play Pokemon GO without a legendary. At all. I missed out Articuno and Moltres and Zapdos because I was in an area where I couldn't play the game at all (same for Lugia, I believe), and then with the dogs I wasn't sure what they did and I didn't have strong enough Pokemon to battle them so I couldn't.

And now this. Ho-oh.

I was so looking forward to it and then it bit me in the butt.

Oh well. There may be some other times. But when it happens, the game had better not lag on me again...
