I finally, finally got my first Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO!
And surprise surprise, it's Ho-oh!

How did I know there would be people there this time? Easy. I was enlisted in a regional Discord group and there were people who agreed to do the raid at a location literally close by. At that time, my phone was dying (and you could see it from the battery percentage at the time I took this screenshot) but I still charged it up a bit before the raid.
Seven other trainers joined in--some from Mystic, some from Valor, and some from Instinct. I thought we had a good mix of people around, and then we started the raid.
Overall I had to use 10 Pokémon to take it down. Of course, I had help from several other people who had Tyrranitars, Golems, Vaporeons, Raikous--hey, to be fair, I used two Jolteons, a Jynx, a Rhydon, a Graveler, a Vaporeon, a Sudowoodo, a Donphan, a Skarmory...I think that's it? Oh, and a Cloyster!
Either way, around 60-70 seconds left out of 200 something seconds, the Pokémon was taken down, and I got a few rewards--10000 XP, 12 Hyper Potions, a Charged TM, 7 Golden Razzberries, and 500 Star Dust. I got 10 balls then to try and catch Ho-oh.
A Valor trainer eventually came to help me out. I first fed it the golden razzberry and then she told me about timing and stuff, which I eventually gave a shot at. I would have taken an AR shot of the Pokémon in the snow but my battery was running low and I didn't want to risk it. So I just watched her throw the ball and then boom, the Pokémon was caught on the first throw!
I think the overall CP of it was 2195, so not 100%, but I was still happy. I GOT MY FIRST LEGENDARY!
I think the gods had granted me good luck today. :)
