So I went to see "Christopher Robin" with my dad yesterday after showing him the trailer for the movie the night before. Need I say, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.
I'm not kidding! I loved Winnie the Pooh as a kid, through reading his many adventures and watching some old cartoons that made me laugh and cry. Then in 2015 when we were on our road trip to Banff, I even did some research into Pooh's origins and was shocked to find that his origins came from a black bear adopted at a train station in White River!
Anyway. Enough of me geeking out.
I just love how it's relatable to most of us nowadays. As we grow up, we forget about the little joys in life and just set our sights on the things that we think matter to us most--losing the reality in the process. I'm glad Pooh was still around to remind Christopher of the childhood he once had. And that family is the one thing that brings everyone together. And that doing nothing often leads to the very best something.
I mean, you never know what life would bring you sometimes.
It was a roller coaster of emotions--I laughed, I cried (literally--I even brought tissues to the theatre in case it happened) and I never lost focus of the film for one second.
(Also can we just say that Eeyore is the most relatable character in this film? His lines are just hilarious.)
So yeah. I highly recommend it for everyone. Absolutely stunning, a job well done. It's definitely worth taking another journey into the Hundred Acre Wood and finding the sweet honey everyone craves. Or at least, Pooh does.
