You know the simple joys in life that make you get on your feet and just dance? Or at least let loose and have fun?

I can at least have you all know that I've had a very good week last week. Of course my parents got seriously worried over my safety and shiez, but rest assured, besides the weather literally whipping my coat in a twist, I've actually gotten down to doing some good things that made me feel happy.

So I made it into one of the two acapella groups I auditioned for--an all-female acapella group at my university. We have an international competition coming up in a month (I'm not sure if anyone has heard of the ICCAs, unless you've watched Pitch Perfect which I finally did just last week) so we're already on the roll with our song set. And we actually sound really good! I've been placed in the alto section--it's really a matter now of making sure we sound strong enough to support the rest of the group. But I'm really, really stoked for our eventual performance!

I also attended the orchestra open rehearsal--fun times, fun times. New faces, old faces, and some really challenging repertoire up ahead. I've practically exhausted my time as section leaders though--I won't be surprised if someone else ends up being nominated for concert master or principal second violin. But either way, I'm excited to see what we can do! (Yes, one of the pieces we've been slated for is a 53 minute piano concerto by Brahms...eek...)

Last Wednesday I also attended a dance class as part of our school's Welcome Week--a little something called Beyography (exactly what it is--dancing to Beyonce). We had an expert come in to teach us some moves to Beyonce's Countdown, and by the end of two hours, I was out of breath and exhausted, but really happy.

I even got praised for a submission for one of my sociology classes by one of my classmates. Really gave me a boost on my self-confidence.

I'm just hoping the rest of the term would bring me as much happiness and joy, because let's face it--I need it.
