"I love you."

Anyone could say them to anyone they hold dearly in their hearts. I never found reason to reserve this just for "the one"--instead, it's for anyone. Everyone. The whole world, if it comes to it.

Of course I'd know. I watches Frozen long enough to know that "love will thaw"--the powerful feeling of standing by someone and just loving everything about them makes everything look so bright. The future wouldn't look so bleak anymore with a person beside us. With someone we truly love beside us.

And anyone could give it to us. I've had it first from my family, constantly supporting me from the beginning (even if there were major bumps along the way). I've had it from my friends, the people who always brought me to laughter without even trying, who brought large smiles to my face every day. And now my circle has grown with a wonderful faithful boyfriend, who promised to wait for me until I return from my co-op experience to be in his arms again. Such a short time we had together, and we already wished for longer.

So it had always been with the people who entered my life and stayed in it, all while giving me every reason to believe that there would always be a heart of gold somewhere in the web of unfamiliarity.

They never really left me even as distance would never allow us to see each other face to face. They were always here, with a place in my heart. And so now as I sit in my room, typing away with my thoughts wandering to a single rose I bought earlier today in reminiscence of my final date with my boyfriend before fate pulled us apart, I feel my heart blossoming with gratitude and faith for all of you amazing kind souls out there.

So this Valentine's Day, let your heart be filled with love. Remind yourself of the friends you made, the parents who took care of you, the siblings who look up to you (or who you look up to, depending on the age difference or whatever the case may be). Remind yourself of the person you already are.

I'm absolutely grateful for everything we shared together, and all I can hope is for more of these fun times together that would make everything look bright.

So from my corner of the world to yours, I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day, filled with love and happiness.
