Chapter 45: Soothing Melody

-Theodore's POV-

"Hah, this is quite troublesome." My father sighed.

"What's wrong, father?" I asked.

"It's about that Shoda Yuuto fellow. After that stunt, he pulled off a couple weeks ago, I've been dealing with letters from other kings and nobles from other countries saying that they want him to visit their country." 

"Ah, well, Yuuto did have his reasons for dealing with The Bandit Witch," I told father.

"Yes and because of that, he became known to the other countries. I have no doubts that some of them will likely come here just to meet him and convince him to join them." 

"You're not wrong but I don't see that happening. When you called him here to reward him, you offered to make him a General with his personal army but he declined." 

"Yes. By the way, what was his reason for declining my offer again?" My father asked me since he couldn't remember.

"He said that he's just a lowly merchant that could never be something like a General." I reminded him.

"Ah, that's right. I don't believe a word of that! He managed to apprehend one of the most notorious criminals in the continent yet he believes he's not worthy of the title, General? How ludicrous!"

"I can't say I don't agree with you but this was Yuuto's decision so we must respect it. At least he didn't say he didn't want a reward so you were able to give him something." 

"Oh yeah. What was it again?"

Poor father. He may not be that old but he sure forgets things alot.

"He asked for access to our resources as long as it's not too valuable. It seems that he's not only a merchant but also a crafter and alchemist. He might be more but I can't be sure." 

"I see. Well, it's nothing too troublesome then I guess it's fine." 

Even though you already allowed him to do it though. I guess that's Father for you.

When he's in King Mode, he acts like a respectable and determined man but when he's not, his personality shifts to that of a tactless person. Regardless of this current behavior, I still care about him and always will.

After my conversation with Father, I left his office and went to talk with my elder sister.

Evalyn was currently in her room. She doesn't leave her room nowadays ever since Yuuto broke her off that love potion that Kalvin put her under.

One of the maids were standing by her door waiting for further instructions. When she saw me, she opened the door for me to go in.

"Sorry for the intrusion, sister." I apologized to Evalyn.

When I was inside Evalyn's room, I noticed that she was under her covers. It was obvious that she was there because there was a human size lump on the bed.

"I know that I'm bothering you but I would like to speak with you if you don't mind." I tried to act politely as possible.

To be honest, my sister was a mess and I felt like I needed to do something. I wanted to be stern and shapen her up that way but it's useless since it's Evalyn.

My eldest sister has always been the cold and obnoxious type. She never acts polite and is always cold and ruthless towards others no matter their status.

Being polite is my only option if I want to get anywhere.

"I don't mind . . . Please, take a seat."
