Chapter 78: Introducing The New Members

Once I was done with my plan to apologize to Iris, I opened up a portal that led back to the Inn. 

When I got there, I noticed that Nami, Yuno, and even Kenji were standing by the door where Iris was sulking in. I could also feel a strong depressing aura coming from the door.

"Did the situation get worse?" I asked.

"Yeah. Iris is emitting a stronger aura than before. Even the others at the Inn are noticing it." Nami explained.

"Master, please tell me that you came up with something to help Iris. Watching her getting sad is too much even for me." Yuno begged.

"Yeah, I did. That's why I'm here actually. You three go through the portal while I get Iris." I told them.

"Are you sure? Yuno and I could get Iris if you like." Nami offered.

"Sorry but I need to do this. Now, go through the portal and I'll catch up." 

The three of them complied with my order and went through the portal. I then went to the door and knocked on it.

"Iris, it's Yuuto. Could we talk for a minute?" 

I didn't hear her reply but that depressing atmosphere was getting worse. This is gonna be difficult. 

"Look, Iris, I just want to talk so could you please open the door?" 

Once again, there was no reply. I was getting impatient so I decided to just go in her room without her permission. 

Please don't be changing in there. I can't afford to go through such a cliche.

Since the door was locked, I used [Unlock] on the door. This spell was part of a thief's magic category. 

Yeah, I know, I didn't know there was such a category either. Anyway, once I opened up the door, I went inside to see Iris laying under the covers. 

She looks like a meat-bun when she's under the covers. It kind of looked funny but I held in my laughter so I could focus on the task at hand.

"Hey, Iris, we need to head towards the lab," I told her.

". . . Don't wanna go." She finally spoke.

It's good that she's talking to me but that wasn't the answer I was looking for. 

"Look, I know your mad but please listen to me." 

". . . No." 

Geez, she's being very difficult.  

"There's someone I want you to meet," I told her.

". . . Don't want to meet them." 

Yep, she's going to be difficult from here on, isn't she?

I was getting impatient so I took the cover off her and picked her up.

"Sorry about this but I'm not having you get all pouty on me." 

"Put me down, Yuuto." Even though she didn't yell at me, I could tell that she was mad. 

"Alright, let go, shall we?" I then carried Iris to the portal.

The moment Iris and I arrived at the lab, Kenji and Yuno both charged at me at top speed. Kenji stopped halfway but Yuno kept going and crashed into me.

I was still holding on to Iris when this happened so when Yuno tackled me to the ground, I accidentally dropped her and she fell.

"Master, how could you?!" Yuno wailed at me.
