"Master, I can't accept this!"
"Yuno's right. This isn't a wise choice, Master."
"Yuuto, please reconsider."
Yuno, Kenji, and even Iris were against me helping Scarlett out. This was actually a first time for me seeing this.
Despite this, their little protests weren't going to change my mind and I told them so.
"Look, nothing you three say will change my mind. I already made up my mind and I'm going to go through with it."
"You can't do this, Master! For all you know, that woman could be just as dangerous as Infernus. You're being too hasty!" Yuno urged me.
"Master, please stop and think about this. We know nothing about this person and with that spirit inside her, she's a danger to you." Kenji added.
"Yuuto could get hurt if he goes along with this." Iris chimed in.
Good grief, this is getting tedious. I was losing my temper and decided to be a little more assertive.
"You can rebel against my decision all you want but nothings going to change. Now, this is an order from your Master so stop." I told them in a cold tone.
When I coldly told Kenji and Yuno this, they stood down but, unfortunately, Iris didn't go along with them. She was more rebellious then Kenji and Yuno.
"Yuuto, you should think about this more. If you don't consider what could happen in the future, it could make things worse."
All I could do was sigh and walk away from them. I knew Iris would still be against my decision but I didn't want to be right because it would be a hassle.
She'll likely get over it in due time so I'll just have to wait until that time comes. Meanwhile, I'll have to deal with her protest.
After I was done talking with those three, I went back towards Scarlett who was still in the bed with a shocked expression. When she looked up to me, she asked me a question.
"Why?"
It was an obvious question considering the situation. She's been dealing with this ever since she was a kid and it doesn't look like she's been able to get any help so I can understand why she's asking.
"It's because you didn't deserve any of this. You were living your life the way you wanted and Infernus took it all away made your life into hell on earth. You deserve better than this."
This was my honest answer. Nobody should go through something like this.
When I told her this, she started to tear up and cry. I did my best to calm her down so I could continue with my business.
Once she calmed down, I continued.
"Scarlett, I need to know about Infernus. Specifically, her weaknesses like how to stop her or getting her out of you."
Unfortunately, Scarlett shook her head. I wasn't expecting much from the exorcism but I wish I had something on her weaknesses.
Water might not work next time because since she knows my capabilities, she won't underestimate me and will go all out. That flame of hers was able to suck out the air so I can't image water doing the same thing again.
I got lucky that time. She'll likely burn as hot as the sun so that water can't even faze her or maybe have some kind of buff to prevent water from even touching her.
I didn't want to think about it but I also couldn't help but fear that the ring I used to suppress Infernus won't last long. Not only that but I'm afraid that I might not be able to contain her when that time comes.
While I was in my deep thoughts, Scarlett told me something.
"I'm sorry but I don't know anything about Infernus. Even though we're both apart of each other, I don't know anything that can be useful. However . . . " She began.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Well, I may not know much about Infernus but I do know that she's not the only one. A-apparently, there are spirits just like her."
Ah, crap. Once again, I rushed into the situation too quickly without realizing obvious cliches.
I should've figured that there were others like her . . . Hang on a second!
This kind of development seems fishy. I don't like where this conversation is heading.
"U-uh, could you tell me about the other spirits? Like, do any of them have a relationship with Infernus."
As if I helped her remembered something, it's as if a light bulb popped above her head.
"That's right! There are a few spirits that know her! I seem to remember them when they thought I was Infernus when I met them. They asked me a few questions but I didn't know what they were talking about and that's when Infernus took over. After that, I don't remember anything else."
I see. This isn't going to end well for me.
"Uh, were the spirits all . . . Female?" I asked.
Just when I asked this, I started to feel an ominous presence coming from behind me. I did my best to ignore it and listened to Scarlett.
"I think they were all female. There were . . . Three women that confronted me."
. . . God damn it!
I just got myself into something that I will forever regret doing . . .
-Aquanis's POV-
"Something's wrong," I commented.
"You can't get a hold of Infernus either, can you?" Basalt tried to confirm.
I nodded to confirm her suspicions. When I nodded, she scratched her head and ruffled her short brown hair.
It's a habit she got when she gets nervous or it in deep thought.
"Yeah, this is indeed strange. Infernus wouldn't ignore us even if she was pissed at us. Something's definitely wrong." Azura stated.
As she said this, she walked over to the carriage and pet her green and white bird. Like her bird, she also had green hair which was shoulder-length.
"What do you think happened, Aquanis?" Basalt asked me.
I didn't have an answer for her. I was able to sense her before but for some reason, she just suddenly vanished without a trace.
This isn't good.
"I'm not sure but I know that our sister is in danger," I told them.
They both looked at me with a serious look on their faces. They both know what this means.
If our sister isn't contacting us and none of us can sense her, it means something is terribly wrong.
