Chapter 91: Festival/Temple Situation Part 1

-Leontine's POV-

The moment we charged at the enemy, I aimed at the leader of the operations. 

That man's earlier comment made it plainly obvious that he's the one pulling the strings. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attack him because one of his partners attacked me first. 

When we crashed into each other, I had to jump back because that enemy had a trick up her sleeve. She pulled out a knife made out of adamantine. 

That metal is unbreakable and if it was forged into some kind of blade, it could cut through almost anything. I can't let that touch me.

"Impressive, you managed to dodge." The cloaked figure with silver hair told me.

"That knife is no joke so of course, I had to dodge." 

"At least you know your limits." 

The silver-haired cloaked person charged at me again. 

If I were back in my old body, I could take her down easily but there's no point in worrying about that. I then proceeded to dodge her attacks until I could find an opening. 

This enemy appears to be far more experience than your average fighter. It's like she's been through a lot of wars. 

Even though she's covered her appearance, I could still tell in her fighting style that she's a pro among pros. Who the hell am I dealing with?

I looked over to how the others were doing and they looked fine. 

Ruby, Sapphire, and Kenji were all fighting one enemy but it seems that the kid knows how to handle being outnumbered because with all three of them combined, she should've been finished by now.

"Focus on what's in front of you!" The silver-haired person warned me and then attempted to slice my head off.

I managed to dodge it in time but strands of my hair were cut, though. 

"Is dodging all you can do or are you going to attack me soon?" She asked.

"Sorry about that. It's been a while since I last fought somebody so forgive me for not going on the offensive sooner."

"Oh? So, you're rusty, is that right?" She asked with surprise.

"Yeah. I stopped fighting a couple years ago so I'm not well adjusted yet." 

"Heh! The fact that you were able to dodge my attacks so easily means that your fighting skills ain't no different." 

She was able to make that sort of conclusion, huh. She's definitely someone that's going to be a hassle.

I then charged at the silver-haired woman and this time, I was on the offensive. 

-Elizabeth's POV-

When I got to where the enemy was, they were already harming civilians. 

There seemed to be two assailants attacking the Festival. One of them looked like a buff man and the other was a little girl.

Despite looking like a little girl, she seems awfully powerful. Far powerful than the buff one.

I didn't want any people to get hurt since Master told us to keep them safe so I rushed in before any more people could get hurt. The little one was about to kill a woman and her child until I jumped in front of them and blocked the attack.

I then kicked the little one away and got the woman and child away from harm. 

"Ho-ho! Looks like we got a challenger!" The little one announced with joy.

The little one and the buff one then confronted me. This isn't gonna go well. 

"You're the first one at the Festival to actually lay a hand on me. The others attempted to do so but were killed instantly without much of a fight." 

Damn, so she's already killed some people. Master isn't going to like this.

"Well, since you managed to get a clean hit on me, I'll play with you to see what you're made of." 

The little one then went into a battle stance and waited for me. It doesn't seem like the buff one is going to interfere but I can't be sure. 

If I attack them, that'll give the people time to escape but I'm not sure if I can take her. I can tell that she's stronger than me but Kenji and Yuno could easily take her on single-handedly. 

Unfortunately, I'm not up to either of their levels. I'm about two hundred level below them and this little girl seems to be stronger than me by a hundred. 

If I try to fight her, I won't last long. I might not have a choice if I want to keep the people safe. 

I resolved myself and took a battle position as well. When I did this, the little girl charged at me at lightning speed. 

She's too fast! I was able to dodge her first attack but when I did, she attacked me again while I was trying to dodge her first one. 

I got his in the stomach and pushed back pretty far. I didn't feel pain due to being an automaton but I could tell by analyzing myself that I received alot of damage from that hit. 

"Nice! You're still standing after taking my attack. You show some promise. Let's see how long you can last!" 

The little girl charged at me even faster than before. I wasn't able to dodge her attack this time and ended up getting punched in the chest and then kicked in the stomach.

Both attacks cause significant damage that I was afraid that she'll completely destroy me if I'm not careful. I got lucky when I first hit her but now she's getting serious. 

"Come on! What happened to the person that hit me before? I want to fight that person!" The little girl jumped in the air and attempted to attack me once again.

Yuno, Emerald, please hurry.

-Azmuth's POV-

She's good. 

Whoever this person is, she's far more powerful than I originally thought. At first, she was just dodging my attacks but now that she's on the offensive, I feel like I'm at a disadvantage.

The yellow-masked enemy attempted to punch me in the face but I was able to dodge, only to get kicked in the leg. Even when I somehow manage to dodge her attacks, she always goes for another after her first. 

Just how strong is this person?

"What's the matter? You seemed to be troubled." The Yellow-masked enemy taunted me.

"Don't screw with me!" 

I then used Ice Magic and fired [Ice Shards] at her. This, however, wasn't enough to stop her because she was able to use Fire Magic.

"[Flaming Burst!]" 

A wave of fire then melted my [Ice Shards] before they could actually do anything. Damn, so she's able to use magic, huh. 

"I didn't expect you to be able to use magic," I stated.

"Come now, you should've been prepared for something like that. After seeing you fight, I could tell that you've experienced through over a dozen battles and wars."

She was able to tell that I've been through a couple wars just by my fighting style? How was she able to make that conclusion?

"I see that you're someone that's not to be underestimated." 

"Of course. Knowing your enemy is very vital. If you just attack blindly, it'll only lead to failure." 

Those are some wise words. 

"I think that's enough talking. Let's continue, shall we?" 

The yellow-masked enemy then charged at me.
