Well, this didn't turn out the way I thought it would.

To be honest, this seems far too cliche even for me. Think about it, the Phantom Pirate starts turning people into ghosts and it all started when I showed up.

Not only that but that Phantom Pirate used to be known as Edgar Dukes who knew Leontine Hamilton, my predecessor. It just seems far too cliche for me even if I might have thought of something like this happening.

I mean, it's good that I know who the Phantom Pirate is but it's also a problem since I'm the reason he suddenly shows up. Those ghosts said that I sensed like Leontine so maybe when I arrived here, his spirit sensed me and that's when he rose from the sea grave.

Well, regardless, he's becoming a pain to deal with so I need to figure out a way to deal with him. The problem with that is I can't use offensive magic and considering the Edgar is now a vengeful spirit, he's probably going to be a pain to deal with.

Anway, after I was done questioning the ghosts, I left the morgue and let the priests deal with them.

"So, what did you get out of them?" Fate asked.

"Nothing much but enough information for me to start my next plan," I told her.

"Really? What's your plan?"

"Well, for now, I need to head somewhere to build something. I'll show you it when I'm done."

"Alright but please hurry though. If things progress any further then we'll be dealing with a lot of trouble." Fate warned me.

"I'm well aware."

After my conversation with Fate was done, I headed back towards the Inn. The others weren't back yet so I decided to leave them a note on my bed.

After that, I opened a portal and returned to the base. I went over to the lab so I could start building something to fight against the ghosts I'll likely be encountering.

Okay, so what should I make? Since ghosts are undead, holy items should do the trick.

The question now is, what should I use?

[You could make a holy light to keep ghosts at bay.]

Once again I yelped when I heard a voice in my head. I knew it was Leontine talking to me but I wasn't used to it yet.

[Holy light, huh. That would mean I need light magic crystals, right?] I asked Leontine.

[Correct. There's a large variety of things you can make to fight the ghosts but keep them at bay is the most recommended.]

[Alright, let's get started then.]

I grabbed a light crystal and a few other necessities and started building some ghost repellants. The first thing I was going to make was a lantern.

What I'm going to use it for is to keep ghosts from coming near us. I'll also probably use it later as a product for the city.

Like in Trinity City, I'll see if I can get the king to approve of this item so it could be used. Since ghosts are a problem here, I want to help this city keep them away and my lanterns might be useful.

Anyway, I started to build the body of the lantern. Basically, I made the frame and the glass that contains the light.

I used light silver for the body of the lantern along with the handle. The glass was just made of regular glass so there was nothing too special about it.

But . . . I did use Transmutation magic to strengthen the glass so it wouldn't break easily.

Now, there are a variety of different lanterns. There are gas lanterns, electric lanterns, candle lanterns, and a few more.
