Chapter 89: Party Crashers

Back in the base again. 

I was currently in the base because I was planning on what to do during the final day of the festival. Obviously, Arthur is going to try something. 

If he's still after the Holy Item then he's going to try something in order to steal it. Since that's a possibility, I need to make sure that the Holy Item is safe and secure.

There's also the possibility that Arthur might crash the party so I have to be sure to prevent that as well. I was planning to build more robots to assist me but it takes too long even with the maids and Leontine's help. 

I think it took me about two days to finish up Kenji and Yuno even though they had a lot of problems on the way. So, if I actually took the time to properly build a functioning robot, it would likely take about a week to do.

I can't be sure but since it's just an estimate, I won't let it bother me. 

"Hmm." I thought to myself. 

 "What's up, Yuuto?" Leontine asked.

"It's nothing much. I'm just figuring out what to do at tonights Festival. It's the last day and I believe that something bad is going to happen." I told Leontine my thoughts

"I see. Well, with my daughters' help, you should be fine. Plus, you modified them up to Kenji and Yuno's level so you should be fine." 

"I know that but I'm still worried that I don't have enough people to assist me in this. I also don't want to drag Iris in this." 

If Iris got involved and got hurt, I could never forgive myself. I want to let Iris have a good life and helping fight criminals isn't what I want for her.

"Isn't she going to the Festival? I'm not sure that you're going to keep her away from the battle. Thanks to your memories, I can tell you that Iris will do whatever she can to help you." 

She's right. Knowing Iris, she'll do anything she can to help me when I'm in a pickle.

If that's the case, I need to be extra careful around her. I need to make sure that Iris is safe no matter what.

As her guardian, I will do everything in my power to keep Iris safe at all cost. And yes, even if I have to kill the person harming her.

"Yuuto, your malicious aura is pouring out. Mind toning it down a bit?" Leontine asked.

Oops, I didn't think that I was releasing any killing intent. 

"S-sorry about that." I apologized.

"No problem. Since this is Iris we're talking about, I understand your situation." 

"I-I see. Well, thanks for understanding." 

"Not at all. Anyway, what do you plan to do about the Festival tonight?" 

"Well, since both the Temple and Festival are likely to be attacked, I'll have two teams on this mission. One will watch over the Festival while the other guards the Temple." 

"That seems like a good plan. Mind if I join in?" 

That was unexpected. I didn't think Leontine would want to assist me in this.

"Uh, sure. I don't mind. Which team do you want to be in?" 

"Actually, I was wondering if I could be the one to run the operation while you enjoy the Festival." 

"Well, I don't see the problem but my question is why?"

"You're going to be occupied with the Festival and also the fire show happening when Oena arrives, correct?"
