We finally made it!

It took forever but we finally arrived at Redfort Town. I knew this because there was a sign that welcomed us.

As we approached the town, I noticed a watch tower that must have been used for scouting out intruders. We got to the entrance of the town and were stopped by guards.

"Identification papers, please." One of the guards asked me.

Crap, I didn't know that I needed some kind of ID to enter a town. What do I say?

If I say "I don't have one", what will they do? Will they keep me out of the town or will they help me?

I'm just gonna wing it.

"I'm sorry but I don't have it. You see, I've been living in the rocky valley my whole life training to be a merchant and I haven't been anywhere else besides there. These two are my brother and sister who have also been training to become adventurers so that they could be my bodyguards."

Will this work? I guess I'll have to see.

The guard just looked at me but sighed in defeat.

"Come with me. We'll issue you three some Identification papers for you."

It worked?! I can't believe it.

We rode through the entrance and was taken to a small station. It had a roof made out of hay and wood and the walls were made of bricks.

The three of us got off our carriage and went inside to get our papers.

We were first searched by person and carriage because they wanted to see if we had anything illegal like stolen goods, slaves, etc. We were also being questioned.

Most of the questions were "Who do you work for", "Have you ever committed a crime", and "Are you a wanted criminal". Of course, none of them applied to us except the "Who are you working for", because I was transported from another world and I built Kenji and Yuno.

Once we were cleared of any suspicions, we had to give them some information about us for our identification papers, so I did most of the talking. After about twenty minutes of writing, our identification papers were complete.

"These papers are used for entry inside towns and cities. They are very valuable and if lost, you can't enter any towns or cities and it cost two silver coins to get another one." The guard informed us.

"Thank you for telling us, sir." I thanked the guard.

"Don't mention it. Oh yeah, since you're trying to become a merchant, I recommend you head to Gora City after exploring this town. There's a merchant guild where you can register to become an official merchant. There are merchants that didn't register but some of them are what you call 'black market dealers'. Don't be one of those guys."

That last comment was very helpful . . . I guess?

I figured that this world would have some kind of black market but I didn't expect it to be because of merchants not registering. The more you know, I guess.

Anyway, once we got our papers, we soon explored the town. After I'm done looking around here then I'll be heading to Gora City to register.

My plan was to become a merchant and use my magic to make money. As I said before, there was an endless supply of gold coin in that vault at home but I'd like to earn money my own way.

Buuut, that didn't stop me from getting a few of the gold coins for the trip. I'll need the money to buy things like ingredients for potions, materials for my projects I'm going to build, and also food and drinks until my merchant business is good.
