part one!

it was known that finn and y/n would be best friends from the moment they were born.

their parents had been friends since high school, so close to each other that they got pregnant together, even gave birth together.

what the mothers didn't know, though, was that one of their childrens would be stuck with a disability.

unfortunately, it was y/n who would suffer.

her disability was not life threatening, she was just simply unable to hear or understand anything her parents, friends, teachers, and peers said.

six years after y/n was born, her mother died from leukemia.

the young girl was aware of it, and as they stood in front of her grave, she couldn't help but sob.

she never got to hear her mother's voice, and now she never would.

it has been nine years since y/n lost her mother, and throughout those ten years finn has been by her side every moment of the day.

he was her rock.

yes, sometimes it got quite frustrating not being able to communicate with his friend clearly, but he got over it.

finn knew that he might never hear the most likely angelic, soothing sound of y/n's voice.

she was capable of talking, but feared people would be annoyed or disgusted by her voice.

as the two friends were seated in finn's living room, y/n couldn't help but feel thankful for him.

she wanted so badly to express her feelings, to verbally tell him, but she didn't know how.

so instead, she taps the boy lightly and lifts her hands, thanking him in sign language.

the bright brown eyed boy smiles and nods, wrapping his arm around her to let her relax on his shoulder.

"are you hungry?" finn asks after a few peaceful minutes of silence.

he feels the girl nod, and gently lets her go, making his way to the kitchen.

as the boy cuts up some tomatoes for a sandwich, finn hears some noise coming from the living room.

not wanting to worry, he continues making him and his friend some lunch.

he doesn't pause until he hears a whimper and a loud crashing sound.

silently and with shaking hands, the young man walks into the living room.

the sight in front of him causes his heart to be on the edge of stopping.

his best friend, the girl he's had a crush on for practically his whole life, is being strangled by a tall, masked, muscular man.

"who are you?"

"no one important."

"w-what do you want with her?" the brown quiffed boy stutters, wanting to protect her but not knowing how.
