A random chapter idea that I forgot to add to the original story because I'm a forgetful shrimp, okay. If you haven't read Smile, then I suggest on doing so before reading this chapter for it to make more sense :))
Also wanted to thank you for being patient waiting for the third book of the series! It's almost finished, I promise! The title will be revealed very soon (and hopefully the first chapter will follow not much long after)!
Third Person POV
"Dude," Brian shoved at Sal's shoulder, as he sat to his side on the bed. "There's no point moping over it, go and win her back."
"I never had her in the first place!" Sal exclaimed, raking his fingers through his hair in distress. "Bryony quite clearly doesn't feel the same about me."
"I beg to differ." Brian argued. "You think that Beth and I knew from the first glance?"
"No, you two just fucked after the first date." Sal scoffed, shaking his head.
"Correction, it was the second date."
"One date difference doesn't change it much, Brian." Sal sighed. "I don't think Bryony can look at me in the same way again...I made a fool of myself at James' party the other week."
"Which is why I'm saying for you to win her back." Brian answered, standing from his bed and retrieving his cassette stereo sat on his dresser. "Take this."
"W-Why?" Sal asked, being confused.
"You know her favourite love song, right?" He questioned, watching, as Sal stammered out a response.
"I-I, um, maybe?" He winced. "I don't know!"
Brian searched around his room, burrowing through his drawers, before he retrieved the tape that he was looking for. Handing Sal the cassette, a confident smirk sat on Brian's lips, as Sal questioned him silently.
"Play her this, and she'll be yours. I promise." Brian avowed, as Sal looked down at the tape in his hands, wondering what songs lay recorded on the cassette.
"You really think so?"
"It worked on Beth." Brian stated, with a cocky smile on his face. "No girl can resist the charm."
"It's true." Beth agreed, as she entered back into Brian's bedroom, after overhearing the boys' conversation from out in the hall.
"See." Brian chuckled, holding his hand out to Beth, soon pulling the girl to sit on his lap.
"And what if Bryony refuses to talk to me?" Sal asked, as Brian looked his friend in the eye.
"Then you keep fighting until she cracks, Sal." Brian expressed sincerely. "I see the way that she looks at you when your head is turned. I see the giddy smile on her face whenever you're around."
"Y-You do?"
"Absolutely." Brian confirmed without hesitation. "She's fallen for you, Dude. Hard. Right, Babe?"
"Bryony hasn't stopped talking about you, Sal." Beth explained. "Seriously, I wish that I was exaggerating, but I'm really not. Sal this, and Sal that...she's crazy about you."
Sal's grip around the tape tightened, as he composed himself. He really wanted to make things work between himself and Bryony. She had been playing on his mind from the moment that he first saw her, and by the sounds of what Brian and Beth had both said, Sal was convinced that she was feeling the same way about him.
**
It was a Saturday evening, and after having followed his mother's request to get his schoolwork done before anything else, Sal finally found himself free to go ahead with his plan to get Bryony talking to him. He could only hope that she was afraid that their friendship was lost, rather than it being over that she didn't feel the same love that he felt for Bryony.
