Joe:

It was a winter's morning, as you paced your way into the nearest coffee shop, fighting against the freezing cold; noticing the soft snowflakes hitting gently against the glass of the window. Turning around, you were met by a packed room, everyone else on their morning commute having the same idea to grab something warm, before a day of work lay awaiting them.

After waiting in line longer than usual, you were met with your second dilemma of the morning - the first being struggling to find the correct change instead of breaking into your larger notes. Searching the room, you were unable to find a space to sit, before a voice sounded out from behind you.

"Excuse me," Following the person's words, you came to find a man smiling at you, holding out a hand towards an empty chair beside him. "I know that it's crowded in here. Please, do take a seat."

You nodded your head gratefully, as you sat down, unsure of what to say in response. "I believe a thank you is in order."

His comment made you chuckle lightly, as you managed to find your voice.

"Y-Yes, thank you." You smiled.

The stranger held out his hand, as you looked into his eyes; the ocean blue drawing you in.

"I'm Joe, by the way."

"[Y/N]," You answered quietly, seeing the simplest of smiles begin to play on his lips, as you accepted his hand.

His eyes didn't just admire your own, they searched your face, taking in every aspect, before Joe cleared his throat, and shook himself out of his daze.

"Sorry," He came across nervous all of a sudden. "I just...I feel like...I don't know, maybe this is too forward, but I feel as though I must get to know you better, [Y/N]."

Taking a napkin from the middle of the table, Joe pulled a pen from the pocket of his shirt, before he scribbled down what appeared to be a line of numbers. "I-I've never done this so suddenly before, but would you like to meet up one time?"

Murr:

Holiday season. The time of year where the streets were packed full of panicked people, rushing to get their last minute gifts for the one person that they had forgotten to buy for, every single year.

Finding a quiet corner to escape the reality of it all was a struggle, until a few years back you discovered a book shop on the corner, which never seemed to have any more than ten people inside at a time.

Entering through the door, with the bell ringing out to alert the owners of a customer's arrival bringing back the memory of the last time that you had visited the very same store. It was beginning to become a regular occurrence for the Christmas season, seeing as the very best books that you had yet to read were piled up across the shelves, just waiting for someone to turn over every page to see what lay inside.

A silence always drowned the entire store, each passing member of society just wanting the peace and an escape from the outside world for as long as they pleased. You were heading down your favourite section; multiple book titles reminding you of the classic stories that you were anticipating to read once again.

After so long, a new title caught your eye. Reaching for the night sky blue cover, you read over the description held on the back, interested in what were to happen to the subway hidden under the city of New York.

"I see you've chosen my book," A man commented from beside you, as you turned to find the source of the voice. "Wrote that with my buddy. Not to be biased, but it's pretty good if you ask me."
