Hold Back

Dane's POV

Masaya naman ang naging lunch namin atsaka mas nakilala ko si Liz. Tama nga si Quen may pagkakapareho nga kami, parehas baliw eh. Napatawa nalang ako.

Ang katabi ko naman panay ngiti lang. Napipi ato eh. Siniko ko nga

"Huy nakalimutan mo na bang magsalita 'dyan?" tanong ko

"I'm already happy with your conversation. Continue with what you're doing." nakangiti niyang sabi.

Ediwow. Mapapanis ang laway mo 'dyan. Kwentuhan ng kwentuhan lang kami ni Liz habang ang dalawang prinsipe ay nakikinig lang. Mayamaya pa ay tumayo si Quen at inayaya niya si Edrake na tulungan siya kasi may kukunin daw siya. Sumunod naman si Edrake agad kaya naiwan kami ni Liz dito. Ang gaan niya lang kausap at nakakaaliw rin ang pagkabuang niya.

Ilang sandali pa lamang ay nakabalik naman agad agad sila Quen at Edrake na parang tropa na ah. Ang galing, close agad. Napatawa nalang ako.

Matapos ang masayang kwentuhun at kainan ay agad nagpaalam sila Quen at Liz kasi mag iimpake pa sila. Bukas ng umaga kasi ang flight nila pabalik ng Amerika. Nakakalungkot mang isipin pero para rin naman yun sa kalusugan ni Quen. Basta ang alam ko, masaya siya sa buhay niya ngayon. Napangiti naman ako.

Naiwan kami ni Edrake dito sa resto at parang ang awkward yata kasi 'di man lang umiimik tong kasama ko. Anyare sa isang 'to?

"Huy okay ka lang?" pagtatanong ko sa kanya.

"H-huh? Y-yeah, I'm alright." sagot naman niya.

Edrake's POV

Damn this feeling. I've never felt very nervous before like this time. This is way more difficult than closing a deal that can greatly save your company. Why is this happening?

I can feel my hands are so cold and sweating. My whole body is trembling and I don't know why. Well, it's understandable I guess because this is the first time tho.

"Uhm Dane, can you accompany me there in the garden?"I asked her. Please say yes. Please.

She smiled and slowly nod her forehead. Baaam! Nice. I smiled

We're already on our way to the garden when suddenly I can't feel my legs and can't take a step. Dane stopped and looked at me.

"Hey, okay ka lang ba?" she asked with concern in her eyes.

I just nodded. Good thing my body is cooperating this time.

Damn that Quen. It's all his fault,if he didn't say those words, I should be care-free right now. But he chooses to confuse my mind and my heart. Now, I'm having a hard time on how to deal this situation.

Quen asked me to accompany him because he will get something.

He walks toward the same garden and situated on one of the benches there.

"So what are we doing here?" I asked. He just chuckled and pat my shoulders.

"So do you like- no, do you love her?" he asked and it creased my forehead. What is he saying tho

"Are you kidding man? What are you saying?" I retaliated. And again, he just laughed it all.

"Come on, don't be silly man. Do you love Dane?" he asked and my world suddenly stops. I looked away because I dont know what to say.

He just chuckled, "No need to answer Edrake, I knew it." he said

"I don't know. I know in myself that love is not my priority but with her, I can't let it slip. I don't know." I explained. And that's the truth, I can't engage myself on someone if I have problems in myself. I should fixed this first before going on some big decisions.

"That's also what I thought before that love can always wait, that eveything has it's perfect time. But later I realized, let's say you have the perfect time right now but what if it's not the perfect time for the other. It's about taking risks man and gambling everything for the game they called love." he explained.

I was enlightened. Maybe these are the answers that I've been finding for so long. I know I have my priority at the moment but I can't afford to lose her. She's just too special to be neglected. I sighed.

"Maybe it's about time to make yourselves happy because that is what I see the first time I saw the both of you together." he smiled.

I just nodded. He's right, breathe Edrake. It's now or never.

I was snapped back when Dane snap her fingers in front of me.

"W-what did you say?" I asked.

"Okay ka lang ba talaga? Kasi namumutla ka eh. Halika na balik na tayo sa hotel." she said. She was about to stand but I pulled her beside me and hold her hand. I looked in her eyes and I can see confusion. Her eyes are just so expressive that you can see her soul through it.

"Dane ..."

"Edrake ..."

We chuckled.

"You go first ..."

"You go first ..."

We chuckled, again.

"Okay wait nga, sige mauna ka na." she said.

I took a deep sigh and let it all out. I think its really about time to let this all out. After all, Quen is right, it's about taking risks and how you handle the aftertaste of it.

I sighed again and cast away the thoughts that bothers my being.

"Dane, I'm so thankful that I met you. I'm so thankful that you found your way to my life. You're like a ball of sunshine that infects us people surrounding you and I'm just so happy to met someone like you."

I looked at her and she's still waiting for the continuation. I sighed again and convinced myself to do it.

"Dane, I think I-"

Then, a strong rain pours down. What a day Lord. Whyyyy

We immediately ran to the nearest shed. It's very far because whe chose to settle there in the far side of the garden. And now, we're soaking wet.

I sighed. Maybe, it's not the perfect time for now.
