Nate's POV

I immediately returned to my seat and I saw her smiling and the other side. She seems so happy with what I did. I smiled in silence.

I opened the container and grabbed some of her handmade treats and it was so freaking delicious. It's like an expensive dessert from a five star restaurant. Damn, this is tasty.

I ate maybe more than ten and our instructor interrupts my eating as he entered our class.

"Everyone stay at the back and bring your things with you." he said. He has this conviction in his tone that made us all stand and follow his command.

"I'll arrange you alphabetically, so be ready."

He's calling names and my classmates immediately go to their assigned seat.

"Beckham, Nate Edrane E." he called me. And I sat on the first row still, but I'm on the center aisle.

He just continue calling and arranging all.

"Echavez, Mary Dale S."

May immediately sat on her seat and guess what, she's on my back. Yeah.

"Hi." I greeted her. She just smiled. Maybe she's feeling nervous because of our instructor.

"Stay calm, just relax." I whispered and smiled at her. She just nod in response.

When our instructor is finished in arranging all of us. He wrote something on the white board, it's a definition of Accounting.

"So before anything else, I'm Philip Santos, your Accounting 1 instructor. To start it all, we will be having an oral recitation and for that, you need to memorize the definition of Accounting for 30 minutes. Understood?" he said.

Everyone gasp, some got nervous but some immediately memorized the definition. I looked at my back and saw that May is shaking. I tapped her shoulders and she immediately looked at me.

"Hey, just relax okay. Don't get nervous, you might not deliver well later." I said and she stopped shaking. I turned my seat to her and we memorize the definition together. It's quite simple and brief so I don't have any difficulty in memorizing it. I helped May in memorizing it too and she immediately composed herself and is okay to go.

"Last one minute." he shouted and everyone trembles including May. I held her hand and calmed her.

"Stay calm, May. It will be okay." she just nod.

Hes starting to call names and everyone is getting nervous. Well, not me.

He's quite disappointed for the first five students since they got nervous and stutter. He wants perfect delivery with no pause and stutter. Now, it's my turn. As expected I delivered it so well and everyone is in awe.

"That's very good Mr. Beckham, 100."

That's my grade. The only grade I settle.

Just like the first five, after me, everyone is quite disappointing. Some got 95 and some got 75, the worst.

It's May's turn now. Before she got up, I grabbed her hand and pressed it to relaz her. She worded then her thank you to me and smile.

She's impressive. Although she felt nervous, still she delivered it so well and got a 100 also. She gave me high five when she passed me and smiled. That's quite a good one.

Everyone follows and same scenarios from the previous. He then got up after he finished judging our oral recitation.

"I would like to congratulate Mr. Beckham and Ms. Echavez for a very good performance. Others, strive harder next time. I'll just remind you that if you stay complacent with this course, expect that next semester, you'll be out. Understood?"

Everyone agrees with his statement and he immediately bid his goodbye. We will be having our first discussion next meeting and should prepare for a quiz.

I waited for May outside the classroom since we have a one hour break before our next class. She goes out and smiled widely at me.

"Huy salamat talaga power ranger ha, salamat sa tulong mo kanina." sabi niya.

"No problem. That's what my Nanay does to me when I feel nervous." I said

We just go to the canteen and grab some snacks. I treated her since she's my first friend here and my companion.

"Galante ka talaga eh no, may palibre ka pa. Pinapaalalahanan lang kita na basta libre, di talaga ako aayaw." she joyfully said.

She's funny. Awhile ago, I thought she's mute because she don't say anything and she's out here blabbering about everything. Geez.

"If we'll both do good in class, I'll treat you right away." I said.

Her eyes grew bigger.

"Totoo ba 'yan?" she asked. I just nod in response.

"Thank you, bestfriend. Oh pwede ba kitang tawaging twinnie? You're like a brother to me eh." she asked. Well that's fine with me so I agreed.

"Okay." I smilingly answered her.

She just scanned the study load given to us and familiarized our schedule. She's plotting her classes in her notebook and I just watched her doing that.

I know that she's very eager to finish studies for her future and probably her family. She's like my Nanay before. My Nanay once told me the story of her in college and it's quite hard for her because they have a difficulty in providing finances for her studies. Just like May now, I will do everything to help her in every way I can.

"Come on May, it's already 10:15AM and our Filipino class will start soon." I said and helped her put her things inside her bag.

"Thank you, twinnie." She said and it made me smile. We immediately go to the assigned room for our class and when we arrived, everyone was eyeing us. That's weird.

We just take the seat in the front row with me on the window side and May beside me. She chitchats with the girls beside her and here is me doing nothing. Kausapin moko Maaaay!

Moments later and our instructor finally arrive. As soon as she introduces her name, she then announces something.

"Igugrupo ko kayo ng tig dalawa para sa isang reporting na gaganapin natin sa susunod na klase." she said.

She then called my name and this girl's name, I don't know. I wished it was May but then nope.

"Beckham at Perez, kayo ay magkagrupo." then this fine lady walked onto me and stand in front of me.

"Hi I'm Sky Perez, you are?"

She's quite agressive and confident. I don't like that.

"Nate Edrane." tipid na sagot ko

"Well, we're groupmates. So we should spend more time together to make our report." she said and it's quite off for me.

"I can do it on my own, no need to make it together with you."

"But Ma'am said-"

"No buts. If that's not fine with you then I'll just tell Ma'am Nena that I will exchange partner from the others." I said and it made her speechless. She immediately goes back to her seat. Thankfully.

I roam my eyes and I saw May enjoying the company of this guy. Geez they're not fun to watch either.
