Seventh

Nate's POV

Time flew so fast.

We're halfway through our semester. Everything changed like people are eager to pass, eager to learn and eager to top most especially our major subject. These things changed but my affection for May never changed. She didn't know a thing, at least that's okay with me, I know this whole thing is not a priority for her at the moment so I'll just wait for the right for it.

Now, we're preparing for the pre-finals exam which is happening later at 5PM.

'Ang hirap naman nito uy!' May exclaimed.

'What is that?' I asked

'Eto oh, anong entry para marecord mo tong ganitong transaction?' she said and pointed something on our textbook.

'That's simple. Here, let me show you.' I said and turned my way back to her side and now I'm facing her back. I can smell her strawberry scent and of course, her lovely hair.

I explained everything to her and now she's stunned on how simple it is. Thanks to me.

'Ang galing mo talaga Nate. Lodi na kita.' she said and stare at me intently.

She's so innocent when she's looking like this way. I don't know but her eyes captivates my being, I guess.

'Huy! Napatulala ka yata? Ganda ko ba?'

Of course May, you're really really beatitiful. I was in the middle of mesmirizing her features when she suddenly laugh a bit.

'Opkurs, hindi hahahaha tagal mo pa nakasagot eh kaya ako nalang.' she said and she get back to her study time.

You're beautiful May. It is not us to realize it first, it must be you. I don't know with this girl although she's really beautiful inside and out, she choses to pick the other side of it. She makes fun of her face, go wacky all the time and laugh on her own features. When she sees herself in that way, I couldn't help but scold her cause she's not owning herself. Ghad May

We finished at exactly 4:30PM and we're on our way to the assigned classroom. It's getting dark since the weather is not good. I already called Tatay to fetch us later when we finish taking the exams.

'Naku uy, kinakabahan na naman ako.' she suddenly said and touched her chest as if she's having a heart attack.

I held her hand and I felt that she's shocked 'cause I can feel her tense when I touched her hand.

'Relax May. Just stay calm, okay?' I said. Of course, this is quite hitting two birds in one stone, holding her hand and signifying my care to her.

She seems controlled at the moment and relaxed because I can see that her face is not tensed anymore. I'm proud that I myself can calm the storm inside my May.

We entered the room and as soon as we opened the door, everyone's eyes were on us and our hands and then with us back to our hands.

Oh shoot!

May quickly removed her hands and move to her seat back to mine. She quickly sat and reviewed her notes to disregard the stares from our blockmates.

'Hey stop everyone! Instead of staring at us, why don't you work your ass off and ace the exams!' I shouted. I'm not cool with all those judgment stares they gave to May. I can't bear it.

Good thing they immediately look away and returned to their businesses after I mocked them. Stupid humans.

'May, are you okay-'

'I'm okay Nate. Magstudy ka nalang, pabayaan mo muna ako.' she said without throwing a sight on me.

God! Stupid stupid blockmates and here we are right now, were awkward to each other.

Due to my frustration, I quickly move my ass away from that room and walk towards the nearest comfort room. Now, me and May is having a minor wall because of the teasing and judgments they gave to us.

I freshen up a bit and calm myself before taking the exams. This ain't good.

When I came back to our classroom, there is a commotion going on.

'So, tingin mo gusto ka ni Nate? Ha? Maganda ka? Ganda ka?' Sky said

'Di hamak na mas nakakalamang ka sa mukha nito gurl' that Hershey shit

'Of course, Sky is way better, look at her! She's like a smug, yuck!' Dolly said

When I drew nearer to the commotion, I was shocked. Oh no!

I quickly grabbed May's arm away from them. This is not good and I'm fucking pissed.

'Here comes the knight in shining armor, aweee! Seryoso Nate, paano mo nasisikmura ang mukha niyan?' asked Sky

'I can except yours.' I said and her eyes grew big

'What the-'

'What the your face, Sky. Stop or else you'll not be happy with the things I can do to you.' I said and she walked back to her seat with frustration.

'Are you okay?' I asked May but she just looked at me. Her eyes full of sadness is looking into my soul.

Oh shit!

She just walked pass by me and I couldn't chase after her because our instructor arrived.

As soon as I get back to my seat, I looked at her again but she keeps herself busy to her notes.

This is not good for the both of us.

Our instructor immediately handed us the test paper and though I'm not focused, I still managed to answer it correctly. Good thing, I studied the night before and mastered it or else I will be doomed.

As soon as I finished the exams, I quickly go out the classroom and wiated for May outside. I need to catch her and talk about the thing awhile ago or else this 'us' of ours will be at stake.

Few minutes later, May get out of the room. My face lit up but hers is as gloomy as the weather right now.

'May-'

'Pabayaan mo muna ako Nate. Gusto ko munang mapag-isa.' she said without throwing any sight to me

'No May, we need to talk-'

'Ano ba ang hindi mo naiintindihan dun ha? Napapahamak na ako sa pakikipagkaibigan sa'yo eh.' she said and quickly ran away from me.

I hope she'll not run away from my life.

Please May, don't.
