Key Word: Taste
The music in the club is loud, drowning out almost every other sound being created around you. You stretch your spine, uselessly watching the people around you. You've never been much of a club goer but it's your friend's birthday so you couldn't skip out this time. She had practically begged you to come with her. As per the usual, this leaves you standing at the edge of the dance floor holding your friends bags and jackets. You watch them dancing in the middle of the floor, their soulmates dancing with them. Of all of your friends, you're the only one not to have met your soulmate yet. It creates a pretty lonely existence.
"Hi," A soft, masculine voice speaks near your ear. You glance toward the source of the sound to find a decent looking guy who is eyeing you up and down. It makes you want to scoff, honestly," A pretty girl shouldn't be standing all alone. Why don't you come dance with me?"
"No thank you. I'm not much of a dancing type," You back away a little, back hitting a wall.
"Awe, come on. It'll be fun," His fingers close around your wrist, trying to drag you closer to him. You try to pull your wrist free but his grip proves to be stronger than your efforts.
"Please let me go," You say politely, continuing to tug at your wrist.
"Excuse me, sir. I believe she asked you to let her go," A different voice interrupts. A hand grabs his wrist, forcing him to let you go. You quickly scramble back, knocking to a chest. Two hands land on your bare shoulders, steadying you. The taste of bitter chocolate covers your tongue.
"If you're going to act like scum and be rude to women, it might be best if you leave," You hear the voice rumbling from the best behind you. The large hand holding the wrist of the man who grabbed you releases him and he quickly scrambles away. The owner of the large hand glances at you.
"Are you alright?" The chest behind you rumbles once again. You do your best to calm your frantic heartbeat. The once bitter taste of chocolate shifts to a milk chocolate, sweet but not overwhelmingly so.
"I'm okay. Thank you. Both of you," You finally turn to see the man behind you. His brown hair clings to his forehead.
"My name is Taehyung and this is my friend Jungkook," He introduces himself, offering a kind, and slightly box shaped, smile. His dark haired friend smiles once before bowing and making his way over to a group of guys, a pink haired one bouncing up to him with a smile.
"Y/N," You say, just barely loud enough for him to hear over the echoing music.
"Are you really okay to be left by yourself?" He asks, his head lowering to your ear.
"I'll be fine. Go on," You smile, nudging him toward his friends.
"Would you... like to dance?" His tone is somehow innocent, despite his beautiful appearance.
Despite your intentions, you find yourself nodding. You find a corner within sight to leave your stuff and follow him to the dance floor. The two of you dance together, the first song more upbeat and fun. You find yourself laughing with him and having fun. The following song is a little slower and sexier. Your back is pressed against his chest and his hands rest on your hips. He still talks to you, his voice soft and his tone somewhat playful. Each time his lips brush your ear, a rich gorgeous chocolate coats our tongue. Each time, it makes your beat faster.
"Lets get a drink," His voice is pitched low, meant only for your ears. You glance back at him and nod your head. He holds your hand as he pulls you toward the bar. You notice your friends in the corner where you left their stuff. The make their way over to you.
"Are you ready to head out?" One of your friends ask. You glance back at Taehyung. Something is telling you that there's something the two of you need to talk about and now is not the right time to leave.
"I'll take her home," Taehyung offers a bright grin as he hands you your drink," After all, my soulmate is my responsibility, right?"
"Are you sure you're okay?" You friend looks at you worriedly.
"Yeah. He really is my soulmate. We don't have a physical manifestation, is all," You admit, glancing over your shoulder. Your moment dancing together had verified that for you.
The two of you stay and talk for a few hours, indulging in physical contact when the mood strikes. Sometimes, his fingers would run across your cheek. You brushed your fingers over the back of his hand or played with his fingers. Each time, a different form of chocolate danced across your tongue. It's like his emotions changed the taste that you received. Anger is bitter but when he tries to comfort you, it tastes like milk chocolate. When he's happy, the taste is rich and heavenly. He easily brings a smile to your face and has a strange, yet intriguing, way of talking.
He walks you home, the chilly night air nipping at you exposed face. He holds you had, tucking it into his jacket pock. You can't help but lean into his side as you walk. He presses a kiss to your temple. By the time you reach the door, you feel as if you don't want him to leave your side. As if he's meant to stay there forever.
He places the softest of kisses on your nose. One that almost feels as if it doesn't exist. You follow him when he leans away, pressing your lips to his. He smiles as his arm wraps around your back, his lips consuming yours. The taste of chocolate becomes sweeter, heavier, and sexier, somehow. When he finally pulls away and turns to leave, your hand wraps around his wrist, stopping him.
"Would you like to stay?" You ask innocently.
A/N: I'm just... I'm not in the best place mentally at the moment. I'm exhausted and I'm going insane. I'm in one of my moods where I've been alone too long and I start to lose my head. I hate it when I get like this and I forget how to function like a normal human.
