My cousin's wife is having a baby, so my mom and I have to go to the Baby Shower.
Yay.
But my cousin's wife is very.......
How do I put this nicely.....
Feminine?
Like, the invitation to the baby shower has glitter. And lace. And we're supposed to join them for "lite bites and cheer" and wear derby hats.
FUCKING DERBY HATS.
THOSE BIG FLORAL MONSTROSITIES.
I have to wear a DRESS. My mother and I do not wear dresses. I do not wear skirts. I do not like getting dolled up in jewelry and fancy floral hats to go sip tea with my pinkie in the air.
That's what hell looks like to me.
And it really pisses me off that the invitation said 'lite bites' instead of 'light bites' but that's a whole other story.
I'm a girl, but I'm not a fan of being tea party level feminine. I'd rather show up in jeans and a T-shirt and eat cookies like a normal weird person, thank you very much.
No offense to all the people that enjoy getting dressed up and sipping tea, though. It's just the complete opposite of my style. I can admire your dresses, but that doesn't mean I'm ever gonna wear one.
