{SPN/AHS} Frank and Azazel

I have been binge watching Amercian Horror Story (would totally recommend, but note it is BEYOND messed up and definitely rated Mature for a reason). Just started Hotel, but I noticed something while I was watching Asylum and couldn't resist making a connection.

In 1964, Frank is a guard at the Briarcliff Manor Asylum. That is, until a demon shows up at the hospital, dragged in from a boy that was possessed and died from an exorcism. The demon runs around the asylum using Sister Mary Eunice as a host until she dies and the demon finds a new meat suit in Frank.

Frank, now possessed by the Prince of Hell Azazel, abandons the hospital and starts cursing children with his demon blood, eventually catching whiff of a woman named Mary Winchester in 1979.

Frank eventually dies from being possessed, which is why he doesn't look any older, and Azazel continues his work, until one day in November of 1983 when he curses a little boy named Sam Winchester, and burns the wrong woman on the ceiling.

Frank from American Horror Story and Azazel from Supernatural are both played by Fredric Lehne. Who says they're not just the same character?
