Tae was looking at his reflection in the elevator's mirror as he waited for it to reach the second floor of the female residence ....
From the beginning he had known something was missing, something basic to the investigation and, finally, he knew what was that little key...
It was that, until now, they had not stopped a second to think about how the murderer had entered into the female and male residences without problems.
"It could not have been easy to kill one of the girls in her own bedroom while also acting inside the male residence," he said to himself as he frowned, "somehow he has managed to act in both places with impunity. .. and without anyone noticing anything strange. "

The doors opened quickly and the young inspector headed for one of the bedrooms farthest from the elevator. One of the few who were near the emergency stairs.
A couple of minutes later he was knocking on the door while, with one foot, he hit the ground slightly as a way of calming the impatience he had been feeling even before leaving the police station.
The time, however, began to pass slowly ... so slowly that it seemed like a century to Tae ... and yet ... no one opened the door.
Tae frowned.
"How strange ...", he told himself, "it seems that Amelie is not in the room".
After a few seconds of silence he knocked again and waited, with his heart hammering in his chest, for the young woman to appear and give him an excuse for not opening the door the first time. Even a silly excuse would be great.... or at least, much better than the thoughts that were starting to appear in his mind...
After all, before going up, he had checked the registration of the residents and the girl in question had signed her own entry the night before... and had not signed for any exit after that.
"She may be in another room ... or sick!"
Quickly, the inspector pulled his phone out of his jeans and called at her number.
A seconds later, for his displeasure, the slight sound of a mobile could be heard through the door.
Tae, then, let out a curse and called Phana.
The inspector had stayed in the manager's office checking the security videos of the last few nights. Looking, though with little hope, for some indication of why the last of the victims had run out of her room, in such a brusque way, to end up floating in the middle of a lake only a couple of hours later.
"Something had to happened that day ...", Phana had commented to him as he sat in one of the seats that were in front of the security screens, "something we do not know ... yet"
