Chapter Thirty-Two: I don't want to be the Connor that hides everything.

My hands were weak when I opened the door of the VIP room. I prepared myself in what I would like to say before I entered.

All eyes landed on me the moment I entered the room. I felt uneasy at first because no one said a word, they just looked at me.

"Regina told us that you and Jessamine aren't really together, is that true?" Mrs. Daye surprisingly turned to Connor and not me. She wasn't happy at all, even Mr. Daye.

Connor, as usual, would stammer but he didn't say the truth in a vague way. "I don't...g-get what..."

"I am sorry," I sighed knowing I needed to step up in order to help Connor once again. "Regina isn't really prepared that we're together. Whatever she said probably was something that came from triggered emotions."

"What!?" Regina dropped her fork. "You just told me that you and Connor aren't together and it's all a set up!"

Connor looked at me with scared expression but I had to defend myself, Connor, the both of us.

"I hate to say this but I felt sorry that we had been keeping our relationship a secret. What I said was actually not the verbatim of what you have said and maybe you have understood it the different way. It was actually an attempt to at least alleviate the situation in order to make you feel better. I didn't know you would take this seriously." I gave a frown while Connor seemed to change from being worried to being complacent with my continuous usage of lawyer/ liar mouth.

Mr. And Mrs. Daye then turned to look at Regina with a look of disappointment.

"No. I swear! She said that she and Connor aren't in a relationship! That liar and hypocrite just made you believe she's telling the truth." Regina innocently wanted to push through the fact that I had really said it.

"Sometimes an argument would seem to be relevant but triggered emotions get mixed up with it. Because of that it would somehow become a subjective stand, and in addition would also cause Abusive Ad Hominem." I shook my head to show pity on how Regina shouldn't have brought up this topic because she's going to get roasted anyway. "At the restroom, I told you that our relationship is far more meaningful than a friend because we treated each other like friends but with the love of a couple. I made the whole lovey dovey up only in front of you all to prove that we're indeed a couple. But in reality, we don't really show affection that much because we believe that there's no need having to show to everyone our relationship. I am unsure of making it official in front of everybody else."

Everyone remained silent.

I didn't know what I just said.

"Maybe you understood it the wrong way and was injected with flowing emotions."

Regina went totally silent in defeat but she was mumbling something.

"Oh Regina, you misunderstood it the wrong way after all." Mrs. Victoria crossed her arms as she darted her eyes on Regina.

Mr. Victoria shook his head. "Regina, this is very disrespectful of you."

Mr. Daye, the cheery person as always, only laughed. "Come on Reginald, let them kids play around."

"I-" Mr. Victoria paused when his phone rang. "Excuse me."

While everyone was distracted, Connor whispered to me. "What happened?"

"I'm sorry. I'll explain later." I whispered back.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I have an urgent business meeting to attend to." Mr. Victoria gave a frown as he returned his phone back to his pocket. "I'm really sorry for my abrupt leaving but I want to thank you for the wonderful supper."
