How many people get to say their dad is one of the best neurosurgeons in the country? Not many, I however, am one of them.

My dad is Derek Shepherd, he's one of the best in his fields. He and his wife, my stepmom Addison are very well known in NYC.

Growing up I would live with them sometimes but do to their busy schedules I was found living with my mom. She's a big fashion designer in the city. So I guess you could say I have two very cool and famous parents.

My name is Isabella Shepherd. I'm 24 years old. My dad and mom were 16 when I was born. They were high school sweethearts and were madly in love.... until my dad began studying and had no time for my mom, unfortunately by the time they realized they weren't meant to be together I was already 6.

I have to applaud my parents though, they have been friendly throughout the years. Even my mother and Addison got along very well during my childhood. Not to mention, my dad has done an amazing job staying apart of my life.

I always looked forward to bring your child to work day. I got walk around the hospital, visit patients and watch my dad perform brain surgery from the viewing room. Addison even took me one year when my dad wasn't able to.  Those two have truly inspired me to work hard, graduate high school early and become a doctor myself.

I was currently on the train coming home from Harvard Medical School, where I was finishing up my last semester before I start my internship.

I was planning on having dinner and sleeping over my dad's house for the weekend since it was his weekend off.

I pulled up to the train station and took the subway to the familiar and homey Brownstone. I grabbed my key and unlocked the front door.

I walked inside to find Mark, my dad's best friend cooking.

"Oh, ah, hey Bella, you hungry?" He asked as he looked around the kitchen. I could smell his famous Mac and cheese from the front door.

"Yes please" I said grabbing a bowl and serving myself a heaping of the cheesy pasta. I then sat down at the island waiting for my dad.

"Hey, Bella you're dad didn't call you?" Addison said as she walked into the kitchen.

"No why? Is something wrong?" I asked placing the fork down in the bowl. Suddenly the Mac and cheese didn't seem appetizing.

"Um, I think you should hear it from him" Addison hesitantly said. I walked out of the room grabbing the home phone and dialing his cellphone number as I plopped onto my bed upstairs.

"Addison, I told you stop calling me-" my dad yelled into the phone.

"Dad?" I interrupted afraid he was going to end the call.

"Bella? Sorry I didn't mean to yell I thought it was Addison. Why are you at the house?"

"Did you forget it was our weekend? Also why are you mad at Addison?" I asked. I could hear him cursing under his breath. A long pause filled the conversation before he spoke up again.

"I forgot I'm sorry, I'm away right now but I'll be back in a couple weeks for your graduation"

"Dad, I'm not 5 anymore you can tell me what happened" I sighed knowing he still saw me as a child always withholding information to keep me innocent.

"I'll explain everything when I see you. Have you decided on where you're going to do your residency yet?" My dad asked, rain could be heard in the background of his conversation making me question where he currently was.

"I was hoping to in NYC so we could spend time together why?"

"Bella I was going to wait to tell you this but, I'm taking a position in Seattle, I talked to the chief, he would be more than willing for you to join Seattle Grace after your graduation"

Seattle explained why it sounded stormy in the background. I honestly didn't mind wherever I ended up as long as I got to practice next to my dad.

"I'll take it" I said immediately after he suggested it. We talked for a few more minutes before hanging up the phone. I headed back downstairs to find Mark and Addison chatting softly.

"He left but he won't tell me why. I'm not a child just tell me" I said standing in front of the two. They both exchanged glances and it instantly hit me.

"You cheated on dad with Mark!" I exclaimed disgusted at Addison's actions.

"Bella wait-" Addison yelled as I ran out of the house. I caught a taxi and headed to my mom's apartment where I spent the weekend catching up with her.
