The last week I had been hunched over the toilet sick. I knew I should have taken a pregnancy test, sooner, the first day I had expected it, but I didn't want to accept it.

Gia was almost one and adding another kid in another 8-9 months would be just crazy, but here I was sick every morning.

The bathroom handle jiggled.

"Bella? I need to take a shower" Jackson called out on the opposite side.

I quickly jumped up flushing the toilet and wiping my face clean before exiting.

"All yours" I said walking past him with a smile.

I walked into the hospital with Gia dropping her off at the daycare.

"Dr. Shepherd, I'm on your service today" Wilson called out running down the hall with charts in her hand.

"Good. Follow me" I said waving her into the elevator. Once the doors shut I stopped it.

"Uh, Dr. Shepherd you stopped the elevator" Jo said all frazzled.

"Listen, today whatever we are about to do. Not a peep. Not to Meredith, not to Jackson and definitely not to Alex. Got me" I asked with a raised eyebrow. Jo shook her head and I continued the elevator ride.

We exited the elevator and I walked into the bathroom. Coming out a few minutes later with a cup of urine.

"Jane Doe and test it for pregnancy" I said handing her the cup. "Tell me when you get the results and No One Else!" I said. She shook her head and ran off with the urine.

I walked down the hall letting a sigh of stress when Meredith popped up next to me.

"Stressful weekend?" Meredith asked.

"Kind of. How was yours? Was my dad surprised?" I asked. Meredith had spent the weekend in Washington D.C while Maggie walked the kids.

"Oh yeah. He was surprised" Meredith said acting weird.

I stopped walking and turned around to face her.

"You didn't go. I know you didn't go because my dad called me over the weekend asking how I was and how you were. Why lie?" I asked becoming the defensive daughter.

"Fine" Meredith said pulling me into an empty room.

"I went to the airport. Had my boarding ticket in hand and sat in the seat. They called for me, four times. I just couldn't do it. I watched the plane take off. I got one of the hotel airport rooms and stayed the weekend" Meredith explained. "Please no mention to your father and no mention to Maggie. She thinks I went" Meredith continued.

"Why not go?" I asked.

"Cause I knew we'd fight. Fight about our fights before he left or fight on how we should have fought sooner. It would have turned into a fight. I don't want that" Meredith said before leaving.

I followed after her heading down the hall.

"Dr. Shepherd" Jo called out as I was about to catch up to Meredith.

"Yes?"

"Um, Jane Doe" she said looking around.

"Yes, Wilson?"

"It's positive" she said handing over the pregnancy test. I starred at the two blue lines on the test. Oh how I had been right.

"Give me a minute" I said running into the room I had just been in with Meredith. I sat down and cried.

"Dr. Shepherd are you okay?" Jo asked.

"I have one child at home that is more days than not in a hospital daycare. I can not take care of another. Not with the responsibilities I have with the foundation and the board. That less time I can now devote to Gia. Uh sorry I'm just a mess" I said wiping the tears off my face.

Jo grabbed the tissue box and handed me a tissue.

"Thank you"

"I think you're one of the most bad ass surgeon mom ever!" Jo commented.

"Don't get me wrong. I'm happy, but I don't know" I said breaking down again.

"I think you're just hormonal" Jo commented. I gave her a look of daggers before standing up.

"Ok, enough. I have surgery in a little. Come on" I said wiping the tears and walking out like nothing had happened. Jo followed me down the hall to the patient's room.
