Later that night I walked into the house dropping my bag at the front door, kicking off my shoes. I couldn't tell if I was already tired from being pregnant or the work days were just becoming longer and harder.
"Hey" Jackson softly greeted kissing my cheek as he carried Gia up to bed. I gave her a quick kiss before shuffling into the kitchen where I rummaged through the fridge for food.
A few minutes later I heard Jackson's footsteps coming down the stairs. His arms wrapping around my body, his head resting on my shoulder.
"I can make pasta for dinner?" Jackson suggested grabbing some ingredients from the fridge holding them up to entice me.
"Pasta sounds great" I said.
"I'll get the wine" Jackson said rummaging through the cabinet.
"Yes, wine please!" I said forgetting about the new news I had discovered today.
"Wait actually no wine" I said realizing. He turned around two wine glasses in hand.
"Wine or no?" He asked.
"No" I said.
"No wine? Something happen at work?" Jackson asked all confused placing the one glass back into the cabinet.
"Surprise I'm pregnant" I said shuffling through my purse pulling out the test. He dropped the empty wine glass, shattering in a million pieces.
We both stood still, I was unsure if he was happy or not. He quickly snapped out of his dazed state and ran towards me ignoring all the shattered glass on the kitchen floor. His arms wrapped around me and my feet lifted off the floor.
"I take it your happy?" I asked as he placed me back down on the ground.
"Happy? I'm beyond happy" Jackson said planting a kiss on my lips.
"Are you not happy?" He asked taking a step back.
"No, I'm happy. I just worry. Is it going to be too much?" I explained.
"Too much? I think we have a great system going on. Plus the hospital is functioning great now. No starting new like with Gia. I think it's the best time" Jackson said. His words instantly making me feel better. I smiled at him, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the man I was blessed with.
"Okay let's clean up this glass" Jackson said grabbing the broom and the pan. We both cleaned up all the glass before going back to cooking dinner.

The next morning I woke up to a text message from Meredith:Your dad is back
I instantly did a double take. How I'm less than 24 hours did it go from Meredith unable to visit my dad to my dad being back in Seattle.
I grabbed my phone and called my dad.
"Hello?" He answered on the opposite end.
"Are you back in Seattle?" I asked still groggy.
"Did Meredith text you?" He asked avoiding the question.
"What's going on?" I asked avoiding his.
"Look I'm in Seattle for about 20 hours. I'm watching Zola and Bailey today, drop off Gia and we can talk later" my dad explained into the phone.
"Fine" I said before clicking the end button. I jumped out of bed and walked into the bathroom taking a quick shower. When I exited the bed was empty. I headed downstairs to see Gia fed and Jackson enjoying his morning coffee.
"Gia is getting dropped of at Meredith's my dad is back for the day" I said grabbing a mug myself.
"Your dad is back?" Jackson asked confused. "Didn't Meredith just go and see him?"
"No, she spent the weekend in an airport hotel. Then he shows up like 24 hours later unannounced. I'll figure it out later. I have an appointment at lunch for the baby are you coming?" I asked.
"Lunch, I'll be there" Jackson said. I smiled sipping the tea I made.
"Okay I need to get ready so I can drop her off" I said brushing my hand against Jackson's back before rushing back upstairs. I quickly threw my hair into a ponytail and applied light makeup before putting on my scrubs.
I packed the diaper bag and headed back downstairs.
"I'll meet you at the hospital" I said giving Jackson a kiss goodbye. Gia and I walked out of the house met by the typical Seattle rain.
I placed her in the car seat and pulled out heading to the woods.
Once I arrived I saw through the glass windows my dad playing with Zola and Bailey. I grabbed Gia and knocked on the front door.
"Hey" he awkwardly greeted.
"Hi"
He grabbed the car seat and diaper bag from my hands.
"I'll be back after my shift to pick her up. If you need anything-"
"I go to Washington for a few weeks and now your acting like I didn't raise you myself. I'll see you later. Bye" he said closing the door. I sighed before smiling.
I hopped back into the car and drove to Seattle Grace.
