Chapter Twenty Seven

A lot has happened over the course of a month. Cristina was left at the alter and Burke left Seattle Grace. I took a week vacation to see Milan with my mom during fashion week. We used the time to catch up on life. I told her about Addison, Mark, Meredith and dad. The whole 9 yards.

When I came back I found out George didn't pass his intern test and had decided to repeat his intern year. The rest of us are now residents and are meeting our interns for the first time today.

I was nervous to say the least. I felt I had a lot more to learn so how was I suppose to teach?

"Good morning Dr.Shephed these are your interns" Chief Webber exclaimed. I smiled thanking Chief Webber before he walked away.

"So I'm Dr.Shepherd, not to be confused with my dad" I rambled.

"Wait your dad is the nice hair right?" One asked.

"No that's Mark Sloan" another chimed in.

"Okay enough. No one is talk about how cute either doctor is!" I said. "Just give me your names and we will start rounds"

"Mark Stone"

"Emma Bates"

"Lexie Grey"

The last name sent a shiver down my spine.

"Welcome and let's begin" I said quickly walking through the halls.

"Woah slow down there. Let me see you on your first day as resident. Turn around and get in with your interns I'm gonna take a pic" Mark said as he pulled out his camera.

"Addison asked your father and I take pics from today to send to her" Mark continued. I could hear the interns laughing.

"Dr.Sloan I'm not a child going into elementary school" I whispered through my teeth.

"Oh c'mon I'm just teasing" Mark sarcastically said.

"Uh Dr.Shepherd I'm your intern as well" someone called out through the halls. We all turned around to see George sprinting towards.

"Um welcome. Name?" I asked not sure if he made it apparent to the others he was a repeat.

"George O'Malley" he said as he caught his breath.

"Okay picture time now" Sloan demanded. I rolled my eyes and quickly grouped everyone before heading back to my task of doing rounds.

"So how's your first day going?" Meredith asked as I rested my head on the nurses station.

"Okay I guess. My stupid family won't leave me alone. They act like this is my first day of kindergarten. I had to pictures with my interns"

"Oh and if that wasn't worse enough I have George and your sister as my interns. How am I suppose to act like I don't know George"

"You have my sister?" Meredith said. I shook my head yes.

"I guess I can't escape you grey's" I joked before grabbing my clipboard and heading to find my interns.

As I walked through the halls I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"Bella. I just wanted to tell you thank you" George said. I furrowed my eyebrow not understanding what this was about.

"For not outing me today. I haven't told anyone I'm a repeat. They envy me. The surgery you assigned me to they think the best in the class" George exclaimed.

I smiled. "You're welcome now go back to work" I said.

I walked around the corner to find Lexie Grey and Alex Karev talking. It seemed like he was making a move on her.

I shrugged off my hatred for Alex being a man whore and headed to the one place I knew I could get quiet. The closet.

I sat down in the corner and began to massage my temples. Residency was proving harder than I thought.

Just as I was about to get up from hiding spot Alex and Lexie came in. Alex being the typical man whore jumped straight to pulling her scrub top off.

"Woah" I yelled hopping up from spot. The two completed surprised my presence looked at each other.

Lexie grabbed her top covering herself.

"I am so sorry" Lexie muttered.

"Get your shirt back on and get back to patients" I said sternly. "NOW!"

She threw her shirt on and headed straight out of the closet.

"Well thanks. Is this because you want me again or something" Alex seductively said.

"Ummm no! First off don't be flirting with my interns and secondly don't be distracting them by taking them into the closet" I said

"Why were you in the closet anyways? You know we have break rooms"

"Yeah well I'm stressed and need a quiet place. Not that it's any of your business" I snapped exiting the closet as Karev laughed to himself.

I let out one last sigh before snapping back into work mode.
