I rounded the hall with a mobile computer heading to a patient's room when I saw Jackson and April talking.

I was far from the jealous type but every since boards and Jackson confessing he and April I had shared a kiss I always had this thought in the back of my mind that April wanted Jackson as something more than just friends.

I pulled down the hall just in ears reach and out of sight.

"Jackson" April whined.

"Stop, April. I love her. I told you, that night it was a mistake but you keep coming back"

"Jackson"

"Enough April let's just get the surgery done" Jackson urged before pushing into the scrub room. I stood silently in the hall waiting for April to enter as well.

Once the door swung open once more I sighed a breathe of relief.

I knew my suspicions were now true. I angrily continued on my way to the patients room.

Once I finished checking on the patient I walked by the break room to find April's sisters and Robbin's setting up for the bridal shower. I lingered too long are the doorframe and was caught.

"Dr. Shepherd" Robbins called out.

"Dr. Robbins what can I do for you?" I asked walking inside.

"Avery and Kepner are in surgery. Can you find out how much longer" Robbins said. The one sister next to her looked at me with a grinning smile.

"Is that Avery single? Scratch that I'm married what am I saying" she laughed. Robbins looked at me funny.

I ignored the comment figuring it was better to just be quiet and pretend I didn't hear it than to feed into it.

"I'll go ask" I said not wanting to be in that room much longer. I swiftly exited sighing a breath of relief once I stepped foot into the hallway.

I headed to the gallery and peeked inside to find Jackson closing up the patient himself. I went to head back to the room when I walked in to find April had just started opening gifts.

"Oh thank you" she sweetly said. I walked in further standing next to Webber who was munching away on the spread of food.

"Just nod your head and say random things. No one will bat an eye" Webber said to me as he choked down on the food.

I just stood next to him watching from afar.

"Okay this one is from your sisters" Robbins said handing her the gift.

"Oh no not that one" they all chorused in at the same time.

"We wanted to save that one, duckie, for private" one of the sister's spoke out. April being the persistent person she was continued to open the gift.

"Oh my god, you guys actually remembered?" She asked as she ripped the wrapping paper off. She pulled out a lace thong with pearls.

"Oh this isn't mom's veil" April said in disgust.

"It's not. It was suppose to be for later" another sister chimed. I noticed Cristina laughing on the couch.

"Surprise! It's for your wedding night. You know with Matthew" the other sister said.

"Oh god" April said throwing the underwear harshly back into the box.

"There's no reason to be embarrassed. We all had our first times too" one of the sister sung.

"We wanted to give you the lingerie and some tips. The pearls are for the inside-" the other sister began but April in a furious fit cut her off.

"Stop. Just stop talking" she sternly said. The sisters continued to antagonize her. Commenting on the lack of boyfriends she had.

"Oh my god. Stop talking to me like no man has ever found me sexy" she yelled. The sisters stopped giggling at once.

"Duckie"

"And stop calling me Duckie! I'm not Duckie anymore. My acne cleared up years ago and I got rid of my braces in college. I wear contacts and use makeup. I did years of physical therapy to correct my pigeon toes and in case you haven't noticed I learned how to condition my hair. I'm not your.... hopeless, ugly little sister anymore. I'm a swan" April spat.

"And a kick was surgeon who by the way has had sex before" April continued. In that moment my heart dropped.

I had been lied to this whole time.

I tried to rush out of the room without being noticed but a plate of food on the edge of the table came crashing down. I looked at April who looked like she had a seen a ghost.

I rushed out of the room not wanting to be there a second longer.

I instead distracted myself from reality, coping patient notes into files. Doing the work of interns at the the moment.

"Are you coming home? It's like an hour past your shift" a voice said. I looked up to find Jackson dressed and ready to go home.

"You lied" I said.

"About what?" Jackson asked.

"I'm not having this conversation here. I'm staying the night. Go home and relive the babysitter please" I said grabbing my files and walking down the hall to an on call room.

"Bella" Jackson called out but I didn't look back. I continued down the hall.
