My grandmother supposedly and conveniently had a layover in Seattle. I was excited to see her especially since I haven't seen her since the ferry boat accident.

I walked in to Meredith's place to find everyone gathered in the living room.

"Mothers don't love me" Meredith kept repeating.

"Hello?" I said making my presence known.

"Tell Mer your grandmother will love her" Alex said.

"My nana will love you" I said making a face at Alex that I wasn't too sure what she was going to think.

"I just came to drop off her favorite cookies" I said before exiting.

"Uncle Mark? Dad?" I said as I exited the house.

"I was just coming to ask Derek if he wanted to get a drink" Mark said.

"It's 4 in the morning" my dad said.

"I just dropped off Nana's favorite cookies" I said.

"Oh yeah I heard your mother is coming in to town. Can't wait" Mark said before walking away.

"Um okay goodnight see you tomorrow" I said to my dad before heading back to my car.

"Nana" I said as I walked through the halls.

"My sweet granddaughter" she exclaimed as she grabbed me in a hug.

"I hope we can go sightseeing sometime" my grandmother said. "I heard the needle is nice"

"Mom this is Meredith" my dad said as Meredith walked by.

"I've heard so much about you. I hope you're free for lunch" my grandmother said.

Meredith looked beyond nervous at my grandmother.

"I'll see you later?" I said to my grandmother giving her a kiss on the cheek and a smile to Meredith and my dad.

Throughout the day I stalked my grandmother and Meredith. I watched as they ate lunch with my dad.

It seemed to be going well until Meredith got up and left my dad and grandmother by themselves.

"How's it going?" I asked yang but she just shrugged her shoulders followed by leaving with her tray in hand.

"You think she likes her?" George asked.

"My nana is hard to read. I think deep down she likes her but on the surface she'll always be worried about my dad" I said pushing a piece of fruit onto my fork.

Once I was finished with my lunch I got up from the lunch room and headed to a patients room deciding to pass by the prisoners room. I knew my dad was having a hard time with this case. Especially after what happened to his father. As I walked by I heard my father talking quite loudly and angrily.

"Nobody gets to choose. Not me, not a patient in this hospital, and certainly not the five women you slaughtered. One of those five women could have easily been my daughter. Those women were someone's daughter. So when I say you're not gonna die in this hospital, I mean there is no way in hell I will let you die in this hospital" my dad sternly said in the patients face.

"Dr. Shepherd enough" I said in the doorway. I caught the attention of both men.

"Bella out"

"Give it up, keeping him alive isn't going to bring grandpa back. What those men did was wrong and what this patient did was wrong as well but taking your angry out on him will do nothing"

"Ah that's you're daughter. Gorgeous girl" the patient said in a creepy voice.

"BELLA OUT" my father screamed. The patient laughed slightly psychotically.

"Bella come on" Meredith said grabbing me by the arms. I pulled my arm from her grasp and headed to the nurses station for stats on my patients.

"Bella look what I got" my grandmother said from behind me. She was holding a bunch of bags from the gift shop.

"For your cousins" she said rummaging through the bag. It was tradition for my grandmother to bring back a bear or plush animal with the hospital name on it.

"Can't go home without them" I said

"I hope you haven't picked one up yet" she said handing me the bear with a Seattle Grace T-shirt on. As old as I was I still looked forward to the bears my grandmother collected for us grandchildren.

It was something I was able to bond with my cousins, being that they were a whole 15 or so years younger than me.

"Nope I've been waiting for you" I said grabbing the bear.

"Nana? Are you still angry about grandpa's death?" I asked just as she was about to leave.

"Sad but not angry. I gave up anger a long time ago.....You're father will too some day" she said giving me a weak but supportive smile.

I nodded before going back to reviewing the notes on the chart.

The next day the patient was released from the hospital and sent to the correction center to be lethally injected and killed.

I didn't feel sorry for that guy, but my father couldn't try his anger on him as well.
