Chapter Fourteen

For the past couple of days Meredith, George and I have been taking shifts caring for Izzy. Overnight she's decided to bake muffins and now the kitchen is consumed of blueberry, chocolate and corn muffins.

"Izzy we are going to work you're going to be okay?" Meredith asked as Izzy whisked away at the batter.

"I'm fine" was all Izzy said. Meredith shrugged and we headed out of the house.

"You know I think the situation between your dad and I is fucked up" Meredith said. We hadn't really talked since I caught her and my dad doing it.

"Yeah I guess fucked up is the way to describe it" I said hopping into the passenger seat.

"Look I have a choice to make between your dad and Finn. If you're not okay with me-" Meredith began. She was really trying to put forward some effort but I was having none of it.

"Meredith, you can date who you want. I'm not going to hold you back" I said slightly snappy. It was then that George decided to change the subject to avoid a cat fight in the car.

I just tuned out his conversation resting my head against the cool glass. The day I met Addison replaying in my mind.

I was six going on seven when my dad introduced me to his girlfriend of a few months. They had met at Colombia.

"Isabella, this is Addison" my dad said. Addison stepped forward with a smile on her face.

"Hi Isabella" Addison said as she crouched down to my level.

"Call me Bella" I said giving her a hug. That night we went to dinner as a 'family'. Everyone thought that we just made the cutest family and I was so happy to welcome her in my life.

Insisted she and my dad drive me to the school the next day. I bragged about my possible new stepmom to the whole class.

I was drawn back to reality as O'Malley slammed on the brakes in the parking lot.

"Sorry" George said looking embarrassed.

We walked into the hospital to a full day of work. All I could think about though was my dad and Meredith.

I knew they had slept together so why did it bother me. That I couldn't figure out.

"Hey Addison called out of work today you know why?" Alex asked as he roamed the halls.

"No, I hope she's okay. I think I'm going to head to the hotel she's staying at after work. Make sure everything is fine and all" I mentioned. Alex walked away but I grabbed his arm.

"I have about 30 minutes to kill what do you say on call room?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. His eyes light up and he sprinted down the hall. I closed my chart and followed after him.

I walked in to the dark on call room to find Alex had already stripped his pants.

I turned around and locked the door before falling onto the bed with him.

30 minutes later a knock came from the door as we were both getting dressed. I went l answer it but before I could Alex straightened out my hair for me.

"Thank you" I softly said before opening the door.

Outside was my dad.

"Hey I've been paging you. I wanted to make sure you were okay and everything" My dad said while trying to pier into the dark room. "Is that Alex?"

It was then my dad released what had just taken place.

"It makes us even I guess" I said as I walked out to go tend to my patients.

I could hear Alex mumble a Sorry before heading in the opposite direction.

Many hours later and I was finally off work. I quickly got changed and headed to my car which was still here from prom night. I hopped in and drove the hotel.

Addison had told me what room she was staying in just in case I needed to call her.

I knocked on the door to find a slightly risky Addison.

"Hey Bella, come in" Addison said as she continued to sip her champagne. She looked nervous but maybe it was the alcohol speaking.

"I just came to see how you are handling everything. I don't want you and dad end things unless it's best for both of you" I said. Just as Addison was about to open her mouth a familiar person walked out of the bathroom.

"Oh ah Bella" Mark said as he exited the bathroom still wet with a towel wrapped around his lower half.

"And here I felt sorry for you. You know I think I'm just going to distance myself from everyone for now" I yelled as I stormed out of the room.
