"Babe, please?" Jackson begged as we rode to the hospital.

"Why? Shouldn't someone like the chief of surgery do it instead. I do have surgery lined up today" I said with a sigh.

"My mother thinks you're the best person for the job. Take it as a compliment" Jackson said placing his hand on my thigh.

The puppy dog face was one I just couldn't resist.

"Fine but you owe me big time. And I mean big time" I said getting a chuckle out of Jackson.

Once we pulled up hurried to the break room quickly changing before heading back downstairs.

I anxiously waited by the front for the head of cardio. I was in charge of showing her around and get her familiarized with the hospital.

A woman looking quite lost walked in.

"Hi I'm Dr. Maggie Pierce" she greeted taking in the sights already.

"Great, I'm Dr. Shepherd let's begin" I said. We walked over to the elevator to start the tour.

"Dr. Shepherd was your name, correct?" Maggie asked.

"Yes I'm Dr. Isabella Shepherd not to be confused with my father or aunt who are also Neurosurgeons" I explained.

"They go by Shepherd as well?" She asked again. I shook my head yes.

"Oh is everyone related here?" Maggie joked.

"My dad is married to Meredith Grey. Yes we are almost the same age but it doesn't bother me" I said as we walked into the elevator. "I mean it like having a sister who's your mother"

"Oh I was joking but I guess that's not too bad" Maggie said letting out a breathe of air.

"There's so much more. Dr. Robbins and Dr. Torres are married, Wilson one of the interns is dating Dr. Karev, oh and Dr. Bailey and the intern Ben are married. The stories about this place can go on and on. At one point my step-mom was working here with both my dad who she had cheated on and my god father who she had the affair with. Crazy" I babbled on.

I hadn't had the chance to gossip in weeks and had realized I might be scaring her off.

"It's not that crazy anymore. So a tour of the surgical floor?" I asked. She shook her head yes with a weak smile.

I then led her through the O.Rs and through the patient halls, showing her some post op rooms and such, ending with the cafeteria.

"Is that Meredith Grey?" Maggie asked as we walked into the Cafeteria.

"Yeah and that's my dad and Zola, their daughter, my sister. She had spina bifida and need a surgery. They adopted her after. They also have Bailey who's the cutest brother in the world"

"This isn't weird at all" Maggie said grabbing a tray. I could tell she was either overloaded with information or regretting accepting the job.

"Dr. Webber here can answer all of your questions" I said leading her to a seat at a table with Richard.

"I'm sorry but is there someone from the board I can speak too?" Maggie asked Dr. Webber as I was about to step away.

"Dr. Shepherd here can help" Webber said.

"Oh no like someone on top" Maggie whispered.

"I'm on the board and a foundation member as well. Also newly an Avery technically" I said with a smile and chuckle.

"Oh my bad. I didn't know- I just had a question on the research you guys conduct here. I heard your board was considering doing cuts to programs"

"You would want to talk to Dr. Jackson Avery than. He's the one that appeases the foundation mostly. I'm just the backup if needed. It wasn't the boards choice though just the foundations" I said before walking away to join Meredith and my dad.

"So what's she's like?" Meredith asked as she played around with Zola.

"Nothing like Cristina" I mumbled grabbing some food of their trays.

"Can you believe she didn't think I was a board member. Had to whisper to Webber for someone hire you" I said shaking my head.

"Give her a chance. Both of you" my dad said grabbing Zola and bringing her back to daycare.

"So how was the honeymoon?" Meredith asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not pregnant if that's what you're asking"

"Oh come on Bailey needs a little friend"

"I'm not rushing. I can barely juggle everything right now. I'm not adding another kid to the mix" I said before getting up and continuing on with the tour.

That night Jackson and I were hopping in bed ready to go to sleep.

"So how did it go?" I asked nervous about the new head of cardio.

"She signed the contract. Why? Did something happen?" Jackson asked concerned.

"No, she's more than qualified. I just wasn't sure she was ready for all this drama that comes with working here" I said.

"She seems to like it here. She's going to be a great addition" Jackson said before turning the nightstand light off.
