I got to work early taking my time in the locker room to get ready.

"Bella?" Izzy called out.

"Izzy?" I called back closing my locker.

"We have a problem. I think I slept with-" Izzy began before George walked in. She quickly stiffened up at the sight of him.

George was hungover and recked of alcohol. My eyes lit up as it clicked who Izzy slept with.

"Izzy" I said pulling her outside of the locker room. "You have to tell George? Cause clearly he doesn't know"

"No I'm hoping he'll remember. I don't want him to hate me when I tell him" Izzy explained. I hesitantly bit my nails, Izzy wasn't making the best choice.

I walked away as Izzy headed to the clinic to start her rounds. I was on service with Bailey today which was going to be interesting. After asking around for Bailey who seemed MIA today I found her talking to Stevens outside of the clinic bathroom.

"Good morning Dr.Bailey" I greeted as I walked up next to her. She was extremely preoccupied.

"Morning Shepherd I need you to take over for me while I tend to a private matter" Bailey said handing me all her charts. Izzy and Bailey walked away leaving me in charge of all of Bailey's responsibilities for the day.

While they may have seemed unfair I was so looking forward to the challenge. I headed back upstairs to assign the rest of the group their assignments.

"Hey guys Bailey told me to assign rounds. Karev you're with Ava, Meredith is with Cristina doing rounds and George is with Izzy" I said furrowing my brow at the last part.

"Where is Izzy?" George asked.

I shrugged my shoulders and continued on the with the tasks.

"Dr.Shepherd" Chief Webber called out in the distance. It was either my dad or I that was being summoned so I turned around.

"Isabella, can you come to my office for a minute. I want to discuss something with you" He said quietly.

"I would but Bailey had me take over her patients today. I still have to do rounds on three more rooms" I explained looking at all the charts and such.

"It will be quick" Webber said. I sighed closing the chart and following him to this office.

"Take a seat" Webber said pointing to the chair. I sat down hoping this would be quick. I didn't want to disappoint Bailey.

"Can I ask you a question about your dad?" I shook my hand yes.

"He's in the running for chief but I don't think he's motivated enough with Meredith in the picture" Webber explained.

"Sir with all due respect my dad would make a great chief. Meredith isn't a distraction, if anything she's a motivator. My dad hasn't made time for Addison the way he does for Meredith. My dad didn't worry about Addison the way he does Meredith and surely my dad didn't love Addison nearly as much as Meredith. She may seem like a distraction but I guarantee she's the best thing for him" I explained standing up in my seat and grabbing the charts.

Just as I was about to grab the door handle and exit the room I turned around once more.

"I think my dad would be a great chief but I don't think you should vote for him. Meredith is more important than some silly title. He'll see that eventually and when he does he'll be happy he didn't take it" I said.

Webber gave me a smile and nod before I exited the room. My dad didn't want chief, he can try and convince himself of that but it's never going to be true.

I hurried back upstairs to find Bailey coming my way.

"Thank you Shepherd. You can go study now for your intern exam" she said. I smiled handing her the charts.

"Oh and don't share these with anyone" she whispered giving me a wink as she handed me a bunch of flash cards.

"Thank you" I said as I slide them down in my pocket and dashed for the nearest quiet room. For the next few hours I was able to study the majority of the flash cards.

I headed home after my shift settling down into he couch for more studying when a knock came from my front door.

I opened it to reveal Addison standing with a suitcase.

"Addison, Uh, come in" I said. She shook her head no.

"It's easier if I stay in the hallway. I just wanted to come and say goodbye. I'm taking a leave from Seattle Grace" she explained.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm heading to Venice. If you need anything, and I mean it I'm just a call away" she said. She kissed my forehead and gave me a hug before scurrying off the down the hall.

I closed the door confused as to what took place. Addison was my second mother and now not having her here meant I was missing both of them.

The next morning I groggily walked into the hospital. I stayed up way to late studying that even coffee couldn't reverse the damage done.

"Bella you look like hell" Mark said. I gave a sarcastic smile.

"Have you seen Addison?" Mark asked Webber as he walked by with my dad.

"She took a leave of absence" Webber explained. Derek and Mark exchanged a look of confusion.

"What did you do Mark?" Derek asked. I looked down at my shoes hoping to slip by without a question from either of them.

"Bella, do you know?" My dad asked. I sighed looking up to meet their eyes.

"She went to Venice. She came to my apartment last night to say goodbye. She's gone for good" I said before heading away towards the locker room.
