Chapter Fifteen

I woke up feeling sick. Was it the alcohol I drank last night after seeing Addison and Uncle Mark together...again? Or was it that I had to confront my dad, Meredith and Addison all day at work?

Whatever it was needed now because I was just about to start my 12 hour shift.

"Let's go we have rounds to do" Bailey called out. I closed my locker and made my way to the group.

"Hey you okay?" Alex whispered. I held my hand up signaling I didn't want to talk about it.

"Yang you're late" Alex called out making it a point for Bailey to hear. Sometimes he could be an ass but deep down he was genuinely nice and caring.

"Thanks for joining us Yang" Bailey sassed as we kept moving. We walked into a patient's room.

I couldn't concentrate at all with the thought of my stomach flipping at any moment on my mind.

The group followed Bailey out and I straggled behind. My dad approached Meredith as I walked out asking if she wanted to scrub in on a surgery. It was then I say Uncle Mark wearing a white coat with his name embroidered into it.

"Bella are you sure you're okay?" Alex asked. His question caught the attention of the people around me and it was then that it hit me all at once.

My stomach flipped and I threw up at my feet.

"Bella" Bailey said rushing to my side.

"NO MR.SULLIVAN DON'T LIGHT THAT" George yelled as the patient went to light a cigarette with an oxygen tube in his nose.

A burst of fire erupted causing major burns to the face.

Alex went to get me a glass of water while I played 20 q with my dad while Addison lingered around.

"Here" Alex said as he handed me the glass. I slowly sipped it hoping this would provide some relief.

"Bella, you don't look good. You're burning up" my dad said feeling my forehead.

"I'm fine. I think it's the drinks I had last night" I said sitting down.

"You were drinking last night?"

"Yes, I'm an adult I can drink. I'm fine really" I said trying to assure both my dad and Alex.

My dad walked away to talk to the chief while Addison and uncle Mark talked.

I once again found myself having to throw up immediately pushing Christina to the side.

"Are you pregnant?" Christina loudly asked while George held my hair back.

My dad came rushing over along with Addison and Mark.

"Bella" my dad called out.

"No, it's my intern" Bailey said as Christina and George walked me towards a room.

"It's my daughter" my dad responded back. Bailey turned around and gave him a stern look like that said he would be informed when there was news.

"Bella do you think you're pregnant?" Addison asked.

"Okay, enough give the child some room. Nobody related to Bella is to follow us" Bailey yelled. Inside I was internally grateful for Bailey at the moment. I'd rather not have my stepmom tell me if I was or was not pregnant.

"So who's the father?" Bailey asked as we gathered in a room.

"If I'm pregnant, it's Karev's" I said hunched over ready to throw up again while laying on the bed.

Bailey left leaving Christina to examine me.

"Karev uh?"

"I'm not pregnant" I responded back.

"Fever, constant vomiting, I was pregnant once don't forget" Christina responded.

Bailey walked in with my blood results back.

"She's not pregnant"

"Great" I said before bringing the bucket back up to my mouth.

"We have to run more tests" Bailey said to Christina before leaving again.

Alex bursted through the doors looking all panicked.

"Addison told me you were pregnant" Alex said all worried.

"I'm not and don't listen to her she's a liar" I said.

I was admitted into the hospital as a patient once the ultrasound showed my appendix needed to be removed.

I was laying in the bed slightly doped up on painkillers to have a good sense of judgement and common sense.

"Bella I was worried about you" my dad said rushing in.

"I'm fine, go make out with Meredith" I slurred.

"I cancelled all my surgeries for today. I'm going to take care of you" he continued.

"Bella I brought you flowers" Addison said as she walked in failing to notice my dad sitting in a chair.

"Derek" she said

"Addison"

"Can you two just divorce already. I'm tired of catching you two cheating on each other. Isn't really even cheating if you two don't love each other anymore"

"She's got a point" my dad said. Addison rolled her eyes and kissed my forehead.

"I have to go but I'll check on you later" she said before walking out.

"I have to call your mother" my dad said pulling his cellphone out.

"Can you tell her to send me some brownies" I said making my dad laugh.

"Nicole? Hey just calling to let you know Bella is having her appendix out today" my dad began before he exited the room.

"Bella hows my goddaughter doing?" Mark asked cheerfully as he walked in.

"I'm on pain killers so my judgement is funny but when did you start working here?" I asked confused.

"Webber offered me a job last night. I hope we can still keep the relationship we had before the whole Addison and me thing. Huh what do you say kid?" Mark asked as my dad walked back in.

"Harassing my daughter?"

"No just making sure my goddaughter is in good hands. I'll make sure this surgery doesn't even leave a scar"

"How thoughtful of you" my dad sarcastically responded.

"Okay Shepherd you're scheduled for surgery and O'Malley will be scrubbing" Bailey said.

"As the patient's family you can wait in the lobby" Bailey said to Mark and my dad. The two left heading opposite ways as I wheeled out.

"Bailey take good care of me" I mumbled. Bailey laughed.
