We had triage today, it was such an important thing for an intern to complete but I wasn't there. I stupidly slept at the trailer knowing my dad was at Meredith's. I also didn't want to see Alex or Addison at the hotel.

I quickly rushed out the trailer and decided to take the ferry instead of waiting in the awful traffic on the bridge connecting the city from the suburbs.

As I boarded the boat I went to the back, normally I would be first off but I wanted to enjoy the view for once. I was already late why not enjoy it.

It was then as we were about to dock that the ferry boat collided into the barge. The whole boat shook sending people flying. I slide straight into a wall amongst others who were standing near me as well.

A fire erupted in the front of the boat leaving the back completely trapped. People screaming everywhere, panic setting in.

I tried to concentrate and help but I had a pounding headache probably a concussion resulted from the crash when we were all thrown across the boat.

I was trying to concentrate, remember my training but I couldn't. I tried to stumble off the boat finally finding an exit path.

EMT's were waiting for passengers as we exited. They assessed us for how much medical attention we needed.

As I stepped off I was greet by an EMT.

"I'm an intern surgeon at Seattle Grace, I have a concussion and possible laceration to the skull. My vision is becoming blurred and I'm beginning to feel weak" I explained. They looked at me like I was nuts until I whipped out my badge.

They brought me over to the yellow cloth placed on the ground where I awaited medical help.

"Bella?" A voice called out. It sounded like Bailey's voice but I was convinced this was because of the concussion.

"Bailey?" I questioned she approached me. She whipped off her shoulder bag and examined me.

"I was running late today. I shouldn't have missed triage. I'm sorry" I began to blurt out. Bailey pressed my shoulders back to the ground making me lie flat.

"Now child if you don't stop moving and let me examine you my ass will be in trouble. Not just by the chief but from your family of doctors as well" Bailey sassed.

I laid back down trying to stay calm.

"I think I have a laceration to the skull. I know I have a concussion cause I hit it pretty hard when the ferry crashed" I explained.

"Bella baby how's your vision?" Bailey asked.

"It's blurred. I know what that means. You can say it"

"Your brain is swelling you need to get to the hospital immediately"

Being the daughter of a neurosurgeon, a stepdaughter of an ob/gyn surgeon and goddaughter of a plastic surgeon I knew a lot about symptoms and causes and injuries in those fields.

"Page Webber, and don't page neuro until we know for sure she needs him" Bailey said to someone as we got into the ambulance.

"Bella, hey it's George. We are heading to the hospital now" George said. I was beginning to fade in and out of consciousness.

I was awoken as the ambulance brought me into the ER.

"I'm late for triage" I yelled struggling to get off the gurney.

"Bella calm down" Webber yelled. I saw him and George closing all the blinds. They began to examine me, flashing lights in my eyes.

"She has a grade two concussion. I don't think she'll need a decompression craniotomy. She has a laceration on the side of her head page Sloan" Webber said to George.

"Bella you're going to be fine. Do you want me to call someone for you?" Webber asked.

"My nana" I whispered. I knew my mom was in Milan for fashion week and everyone here in Seattle would need to do their jobs while I was out of work for a week or so. I thought it was best if my grandmother came, after all she raised five doctors and one grand doctor.

"Okay" Webber said with a smile patting my leg. Mark walked in cocky until he realized it was me.

"O'Malley what do we have? Bella?" Mark said rushing over to my side.

"Ferry boat, accident blah blah blah" I said.

"She had a grade two concussion and a small laceration. She needs stitches" George informed him.

"I got this from here. You can leave" Mark said. George said goodbye and left.

"So you need me to call your mom?" Mark asked.

"No I asked Webber to call Nana. My mom is in Milan right now"

"You're lucky I'm here to stitch you up. You won't even have a scar. So does your dad know you're here?"

"I don't think anyone has told him yet. Let the day go by and he can visit later. Now stop talking and stitch me up good. I don't want a single scar"

Mark laughed and continued to stitch me up. Once I finished I was brought up to a hospital room.

Just as I started to relax the person I least wanted to see in this moment was standing in my doorway.

"Can we talk?"
