After speaking with my grandma on the phone I decided to fly back with Aunt Nancy and head home to visit her.

It was nice being away, not having stress and drama following me around every corner of the hospital. Chief Webber was completely understanding of my needing of a break.

I had asked my dad if he wanted to come but he decided on going camping in the great outdoors instead, inviting Dr.Burke along with him.

I had just landed back in the rainy, gloomy Seattle to find that drama has been waiting for me. Burke and Cristina have been lying about Burke's hand being okay. My dad is under fire for clearing him for surgery and George doesn't trust Burke anymore. Not to mention, Alex was been going through hell with Mark.

I was ready to run back to NYC but I knew I couldn't. Running from your problems is never the answer.

The worst part of all of this was my dad has practically moved into Meredith's which meant I had to move out.

"Good morning" I greeted to the gang as I got ready for rounds. Alex came over deciding it was make out time after not seeing me for a few days.

"Okay you two, enough" Izzy said. We pulled apart.

"Meredith I'm moving out" I spat out seeing as this was the best time. "I can't live with my dad, I've done that my whole life"

"Where are you going?" George asked concerned as he closed his locker.

"I don't know I have to apartment hunt today after work"

"Move in with me" Alex said.

"Are you serious?" I asked not wanting to look stupid at the moment.

"Yeah then we can finally have some time for ourselves, you know not at work" Alex flirted while shooting Izzy a look.

"It's settled I'm moving in" I whispered back. Bailey walked in and we followed her to do rounds.

We first stopped at George's dad's room. A mass amount of people had party hats and were cheering. George's father was in good spirits despite the uncertainty of his cancer.

I could tell on the other hand George wasn't doing so well. He knew as a doctor that if the cancer spread if becomes an even more serious case.

As we walked out Bailey told George to take the week off and be with this father, his family. George thanked Bailey and immediately headed back to the room. It was then we spilt up tending to our patients.

I had walked by the nurses desk on the main floor to see Mark bossing around Karev.

"Do you like torturing the interns or just my boyfriend?" I asked as he lectured him on the charts.

"Both, how was your visit home?" Mark asked.

"Good, nana doesn't like hearing that your being mean to my boyfriend" I said with a wink.

My grandma had a soft spot for Mark but always treated him just like her own. So when it came down to being told not to do something or being punished Mark would receive the same treatment as my dad and aunts.

"It's not the week to be teasing me. I'm not in a good mood" Mark said walking off to blow off steam.

"What was that about?" Alex asked as he began to rearrange the charts once more.

"I don't know normal the sound of my grandma makes him act nice" I said before walking off to help with Izzy's patient.

"Hey Izzy you paged?" I asked as I saw her biting her nails near the door of the patient.

"I cashed the check" Izzy said pacing.

"That's good what's the problem?" I asked her unsure of where this conversation was going.

"I should do good with that money right?"

"Yeah, do what you think is best. Look Izzy I have to help with George's dad. He's post op in ICU"

I headed to his room to see George's dad with the longest scar. It meant the cancer was more aggressive than original thought but what I didn't understand was why Bailey and Webber continued with the surgery.

"Meredith what did you guys do to him?" I asked but she just looked at me.

"Patient confidentiality" was all she whispered. George ran out of the room and Meredith went after him.

I truly felt sorry for George. It's hard being on both sides, knowing the outcome.

"Bailey you do know he's not going to wake up from this" I said pulling her aside.

"Shepherd I don't need this right now. Please just find another patient" she said shrugging me off.

I headed downstairs to grab lunch from the cafeteria. It was there I saw Addison and Callie talking. Addison looked sad while Callie was just listening.

I took my lunch upstairs to the quiet guy's room to eat in peace.

Once I was finished I headed to check on George's dad. I had found that George and his family decided to let him go.

"Hey, George if you need anything let me know" I said grabbing him into a hug. He was frozen like a statue, reality had quite set in yet.

He rushed out the hospital.

I decided to head to the bar hoping to drink some of my feelings away today. When I walked in I found Addison and Alex kissing.

I immediately turned around my eyes bawling.

I didn't know who to be mad at more. On one hand Addison was a cheater but Alex, I was more mad at Alex he asked me to move in and then goes and does this.

I drove straight to the hotel and booked a room.
